While it's true that Lost Odyssey looked pretty good and did have that Japanese style it also had the same issues Last Remnant did. Slowdown. I can't count the amount of bigger fights in the game that just bogged and bogged. Not to mention some of the more graphically intensive fights in the game would outright freeze on a regular basis.
Also SE has never said the reason FFXIII took so long was because of the engine. It had a very troubled dev cycle. None of the dev ...
To be honest I'm still confused as to why they are using Unreal for this project. The only other unreal engine game they made was a disaster thanks to the horrible slow down(PC version of Last Remanat worked great however) and in general the UE engine isn't as effective with more Japanese art styles.
On top of that SE took a ton of time and money creating their own in house engine with Crystal tools so why exactly would they not use that instead? Makes little sense t...
Story issues aside I enjoyed Dirge of Cerberus. I think teh whole thing was SE just making a game for Vincent and kinda going a bit to far and not thinking it through. That said it wasn't a masterpiece but I enjoyed it for what it was.
However on topic. I would like to see something else in the FFVIII universe. While Pozzle hit the nail on the head in saying the story is perfectly wrapped up it doesn't mean there can't be more to explore.
For ex...
my simple feelings/thoughts on The 3rd birthday and before anyone asks yes I finished the entire game and I played the ever loving crap out of the original 2 games back in the day.
The game had great game play and systems and such but ruins the story, characters, themes and setting in nearly every way possible.
Aya was a badass in both the original Parasite Eve games and in the new game she is a constant self doubting somehow comes out alive heroine. She is...
There is so much more that would need to be done to make the game as good as it should be on current gen consoles. Alot more then make models and areas and done.
Firstly the script would have to be completely redone. I don't know if you have played FFVII recently but it has horrible engrish throughout and simply reusing it simply would not work and a rewrite for a game that size would be damn time consuming(one could argue a re write takes more time as you are re doing i...
Just gave it a shot and while the Skyrim's FPS seem slightly improved it also makes it incredible glicthly. Smoke effects randomly turn bright purple and static objects are all glicthly and bouncing around.
Switched back to the single GPU and it worked just fine so I don't need to roll back and can just wait for the next driver but it really didn't make the game playable in Crossfire.
The only thing I truly want to see and this should be very reasonable considering the next TES will most likley be next gen is MUCH better animations. The improved the graphics quite a bit this time around but the animation while mildly improved is still pretty bad.
Aside from that however I'm extremely happy with Skyrim.
I was unaware that the voice of the Angel in the original game was different then the person who played her so I had just assumed the voice over would be done by whoever gets cast for this.
Although thinking about it a little more it doesn't make sense that that would be the case as they would no doubt want someone with experience to do real voice over work. And your right I don't see anything about voice work listed. Seems I just jumped to the wrong conclusion.
Why exactly are they recasting her in the first place? While she didn't have a ton of lines in the original she did talk(mostly when you killed things and she had a funny little one liner)
Collen Clinkenbeard played her in the original and is a very good voice actress I don't see why they don't just bring her back.
Yeah it's true that the LAA was available the day after the launch however a recent steam patch made it so the LAA would not work and instead cause a error. This is a new workaround to be able to use it again.
It seems to work for some and not others but it says you don't need to modify any of your game files to try it so might as well give it a shot.
Personally I think what helped the game sell as well as it did was that ATLUS has been on a role since Persona 3 and each game is getting more and more popular and this was the first true ATLUS game that wasn't on a hand held this gen and folks were quite hyped for it.
Of course something can be said for the advertising campaign you mentioned but then again none of that advertising was main stream(I.e there were no TV commercials and no giant banners on buses and what no...
I'm sorry but the "Tatas" As you put it had little to do with the recognition it got.
The well written story centering around mature themes almost never tackled in a game before is was did that.
lol that is exactly what I thought when i read the title.
Looking forward to the next Fallout if it will be running on this engine or a better one.
well said. There are so many pieces of art many of them are bound to be similar but that doesn't mean someone copied someone else. I mean there are only so many ways you can paint or draw a land scape for instance so there will be plenty of paintings from many different artists that look similar but it doesn't mean for a second they ripped someone off or copied them.
Not really all that big a deal. They will still be making tales games it's not like this means they are ditching the series. It's kinda like how ATLUS was absorbed by their parent company it just makes the behind the scenes business stuff more efficient but the games won't be effected at all.
Yeah I think they confused the PS3 release date as the 2.0 release date as they have said the PS3 version will come in early 2013 while 2.0 itself will come sometime in the 4th quarter next year.
Personally I have faith in Yoshida and his team. They have already turned the game around so much and all of that was done with what is basically a broken graphics engine and server Tech. Once they get that stuff nailed down in 2.0 the game will really be what it should have been an...
I liked Final Fantasy XIII. I will agree it certainly had some issues not the least of which was how liner it was until you got to Gran Pulse. That said the game had very strong character driven drama. While the story itself may be weak the characters like em or hate them do grow throughout the story and by the end they are not the same people you started with.(whereas past FF games had a really solid story but the characters didn't really change all that much over the course of the story...
Yeah I was thinking the exact same thing. The odd thing though is why they just don't cancel the game. They recently stated the game is only 30% done and with the overwhelming negative response to the game it would be smarter to cut their loses and cancel it and start work on a proper DMC 5.
The fact that they put this safety net in place means Capcom has no confidence in the product either which really doesn't bode well for a game that already looks pretty bad.
Morgan didn't do the Gears 3 review. If you are going by who reads it on X-play or whatever that isn't who actually wrote the review. The Gears 3 review was done by Micheal Leffler. While the Black Ops review was by Abbie Heppie.(I checked the site to be sure) The written review on the site is by the one who writes the review and then they condense that to be on X-play(one of the main reason I no longer watch the show as they take a large written review and turn it into a short little...
They have been teasing someone coming back with these odd videos on youtube. Seems fans are split between it being Undertaker or Jericho. Either way the videos say that whoever it is will be coming back on the first RAW of 2012.
