Still remember when 9700 Pro came out and usurped NVIDIA for the first time in ages.

Its only purpose is to reduce piracy and at best for a month if not less.

Nothing they've mentioned in any way prevents them from allowing a stripped back single player option as they was for Diablo 2, as much as they would like you to believe to the contrary.

What they're doing is tacking on this requirement so the game will take more time to crack (but will eventually be cracked like past online-to-play games like AC2).

Meanwhile t...

Consumer headphones especially heavily marketed ones like these are pretty much designed to fall apart within a year with normal use. Rather than investing in a serious pair, everyone seems to just go out and buy the same or similar without having learnt their lesson.

This isn't even getting into the fact that wireless headphones tend to sound anything between mediocre to awful for the price and the fact that having 7.1/5.1/any of that other nonsense in a headphone is a c...

Why would you buy a 2600 when you only have a lowly GTS450? That's like sticking a V8 engine on a scooter.

But don't worry, you have an 8x Bluray drive, that will ensure you can run it fine.

Clean your PC of popups trojans you've been infected with from browsing porn sites. Something like malwarebytes would work.

There is no justifiable reason why the Call of Duty series has validated the amount of sequels it's had since CoD4 with the meager amount of new content that's been introduced.

Looking at TF2 (which came out before CoD4), it's received a stupid amount of new maps, new game modes and tons of new weapons & character play styles. All for free. Yes there's now a micro transactions model, but the sheer amount of additional content quickly attainable without pay...

Ontopic, Diablo 2 and it would seem 3 are very well suited to a gradual skill curve. It's just about the only big name game where you are both forced and given a real incentive to progress through 3 difficulty settings by enabling you to carry through and continuously build your character while offering genuine variety and increased complexity when you enter the higher difficulty levels especially nightmare.

In that sense because it forces you to play what is essentially ...

It only happens in some markets, have a look at how much games go for in ausland:

And FYI, the aus dollar is worth more than the US at the moment, ie were paying more than double. ...

That's a pipe dream.

Publishers aren't going to voluntarily reduce their game price even when DLC starts taking up more and more of development time. They're going to continue to sell the core game as a product but simply give less and expect you to buy more later. They will simply continue to market it as 'added features' and consumers to accept it.

Let's be realistic, when have new release games ever gone down in price? Now that they...

This may apply where you are, but the TF2 community at least in public games in some of the best you'll find here in Aus.

It's team based and relies heavily on working together so it's inherently not full of selfish douchebags. Plus it's geared for fun and not ultra-competiveness so no one takes it too seriously. Notice the contrasts to certain other unnamed games.

Anyway ontopic, the main problem with F2P is it inherently brings a wave of hac...

I'm confused, based on the downvotes people enjoy being pulled out of the action and watching repetitive scripted sequences play out while they sit idly by?

I've all but seen scant gameplay runs of Deus Ex 3 and I can already seen them being recycled.

It's one thing to say these will be good/great games as there is obvious passion and thought being put into the story and setting, but it's another to suggest these sequences are anything but pet...

Do people seriously like being pulled out of the action to watch a looped sequence you've seen 100 times already?

If they wanted people to feel really immersed they would have gotten rid of those awful quicktime sequences already.

DLC is the result of distributors changing their business model from expansion packs to smaller content pieces which cost less but are also worse value.

Rather than a coherent storyline and 8-12 hours of gameplay we now get 3-5 hours of some random mission at best and horse armor at worst. Exceptions exist yes, bu they are few and far between.

The writer of this has a knowledge of games that stretches back only 3 years at most. LA Noire is primarily an adventure game created for the GTA generation with the GTA addition of a free world and gun sequences, both of which end up useless to the main gameplay.

You are incentivized to auto drive instead of travelling yourself and the gunning sequences are rare and not particularly good. The straight adventure gameplay on the other hand is horribly repetitive, particularly...
