You're being unnecessarily pedantic about every point I've made.
All I'm saying is, until I see good gameplay, I have no reason to assume this game will be good.
We've seen time and time again that high production values a good game does not make.
Same.
Besides graphics and setting, nothing has impressed me.
From the small amount of gameplay shown so far, this could be a cover based 3rd person shooter in cramped alleyways with heavy quick time event use.
It COULD be better, but the proof is in the pudding. The fact the footage released so far has been so CGI heavy is not a good sign.
Is there really a need to rehash this endlessly.
So far, the X1's hardware appears to have slightly less graphical capacity than the PS4 according to the games released to date.
If you like Xbox exclusives, its media features, Kinect or something else then you'll still likely buy it. Likewise for the PS4.
What else is there to debate here?
I really question their decision to include bots in competitive multiplayer. I am all but certain that had they increased player count and just increase titan cooldown to compensate, it would have been much more fun.
That and on the PC side, forcing us to use their dedicated servers. That's the main thing stopping me from picking this game up. Having to put up with 180ms ping to SE Asia servers just because I live in Australia is BS and if they're neglecting my countr...
I don't understand why people are still surprised. Xbox One came out with similar but obviously slightly weaker specifications to the PS4.
Yet people are horrified, HORRIFIED it can't do the same resolution.
6v6 is this game's Achilles heel. The maps are far too large for it and roughly 2/3rds of my kills seem to be bots. AI players have no place in multiplayer.
Whatever the constraint was, technical, EA, they should have fixed it or made the maps smaller. Before playing I suspected it was intentional with the Titan mechanic.
From playing it's clear they should have pushed it up to 10v10 or even 16v16 and just extended Titan cool down to compensate. As it...
I got one for PC. FYI I registered within an hour of beta signup going live and I'm from Australia which probably put me at an advantage here.
12.38GB download :(
The real reason is most likely either:
1) Bullet penetration makes playing Titans too much of a cakewalk and too difficult for infantry to find cover.
2) Technical constraints with one of the platforms not being able to handle it with everything else turned on.
I think (1) is quite likely but if it's (2), then we'll probably see a sudden change of opinion when the sequel comes out.
Also penetration doesn't mean d...
More =/ better. Not every game has to be Battlefield sized player counts.
I hope people realise:
1) Video games are a tiny portion of Sony's business. The largest is in fact their finance business in Japan which has nothing to do with electronics. If you follow their stock price, the bombing of several big budget films recently has been the largest factor in their decline arguably.
2) Bankruptcy in the sense they're talking about is liquidity (available of free cash for operation) based. It doesn't necessarily cast judg...
Telltale Game of Thrones and Borderlands based games announced.
New Witcher 3, Destiny and Broken Age gameplay / trailers.
Screw AAA and their overhyped, endless sequel cash cows.
So much fanboyism.
The games aren't there yet and the price is higher than it will be 1-2 years later to catch early adopters and die hard fans.
The UI looks like it could be better and some features like home media haven't yet arrived.
If 64 players on BF4 is a must-have for you, why are you reading a review? You already know you want it.
For the average consumer, rating it AS IS, 7.7/10 is more than fair.
With most opinions here coming from kid gamers who's mommy got them a *insert PS3 or 360 here* and don't know what 60 FPS looks like, I'm sure we'll get an impartial opinion.
@matgrowcott
1. You're justifying countering pre-owned games with DLC? That's a stretch.
2. I have no doubt it brings in more money. That's why I'm saying we get less for what we paid for than we used to.
3. Fixing is something done in patches. Unless you think we should be paying for this? Polishing is something you do before release. Gaming companies used to do a lot more extending in expansions, now they release an unnecess...
I don't understand why people don't realise they're getting screwed. It used to be that developers put their all into the full game without any real thought of after game content.
Then, if we were lucky and the game did well on release, they would begin work on an expansion. The expansion would ship for around half the game's price and contain roughly half the content of the full game on average. The expansion would have to feel almost like a full release, an...
@GTRrocker
Why should we have to pay a rent fee to try a game when most of that money won't even go to EA let alone Bioware?
Do you expect to pay a fee to try on clothes to see if they fit?
Why people disagree with these comments CONFUSES ME.
I think he's overstating the gameplay which isn't as inventive as say, Braid but the production values and effort put into the environments especially for a budget game are truly stupendous.
Have you guys heard of the word pandering?
"I have no reason to assume this game will be good."
