Depends. When you put a company like Disney behind a project like Prince of Persia and work with what was already a great storyline then it can be worth it.
When you do something like Street Fighter where you completely ignore the back story of every single character, throw them into a completely contrived storyline and market based on the star power of an actor that had just moved to the B-list then you get something that we make fun of for generations.

They sold you crap for years? They deserved it?
Did they force you to buy lousy software that you didn't want? Or did you make uninformed decisions?
Caveat emptor, my friend.
Who says they need to be downloaded? With the right application and access to a game disc, either through rental or borrowing, people can get as many games as they want for next to nothing.
The point is, you don't have to be able to download games to pirate them. All you need is access to a legitimate copy, the right tools, and the time to rip it.
In either case, it's wrong and people shouldn't do it. Just buy your games.
Well, TerrorCell, good job on at least being honest about how you feel about the games. Personally I think that the storylines in Uncharted are really well developed.
The gameplay can get repetitive at times, but Naughty Dog did try to improve upon the formula in Uncharted 2. A great example is the shootout on the train. That was more than just hide and shoot, and I found it exhilarating.
I somewhat agree with you on MGS4. While it was a good enough game, I ...
People who get so upset over used game sales often refuse to look at how they also benefit developers. It isn't all stealing from them.
When people trade their old used games, many of them use the money to pay for the new games they buy. If they couldn't sell their old games then many people just wouldn't be able to buy new ones at full price.
It's a lot easier for some people to come up with half of the cash and a couple of used games than it...
Right! It boils down to what we prefer. Sometimes I find the constant fast pace tiring. It just shows that we're different, but we enjoy the same hobby.
Bubbles for you, my friend.
There's actually quite a bit of homebrew. Much of it was written right after the Jailbreak row. Now it is all being signed so that it can be installed via Geohot's custom firmware. The emulation angle has really taken off, as expected.
However, Pandora's box is opened. I knew that it wouldn't be long before someone found out how to wrap a ripped game with an installation package and get it running.
This really is sad news. This type of thing a...
I estimate that I will buy more video game software in 2011 than I did in 2010. Although I did pick up about 6 older games in the last week of 2010 due to incredible clearance sales on some older titles. I'm so glad I waited on Saints Row 2.
What it really comes down to is personal preference. This type of game isn't something that everyone likes. And that's ok. Well, ok for probably everywhere but N4G.
I really enjoy Uncharted. I don't believe that the Uncharted games are the best I've ever played. I'm more a fan of open world/sandbox types of games and I've had more fun with the GTA series, Infamous and Red Dead Redemption. But that's my preference.
I will say that I...
When I need a new controller I usually head to eBay. I don't know if they're stolen goods or not, but I can get a new Dualshock 3 for about $30 shipped. I can live with that.
What I don't understand is how the faceless online people can sell them so cheap compared to normal retail. But I'm not losing any sleep over it.
Geohot won't try it. He's too scared of getting sued. In case you haven't noticed he's not too brave.
This could very well be the coffin nail. It truly is a sad day.
I guess they were right about piracy. Just wrong about which games would be pirated. I wonder how this will affect SNES game sales?
I would just die.
I think that Gran Turismo 5 is a great game. So far I'm really enjoying it. But a review process overhaul is not really necessary. Just because so many people bought into the hype and didn't like the reviews doesn't mean that the reviews are wrong.
Ignore the hype and take the game at face value. The premium cars are beautifully rendered. The game finally has captured a real sense of speed that the previous games didn't, at least in my opinion. There is tons a...
Interesting way to frame the question. So far I haven't invested in either because I'm waiting for more software before I make up my mind.
I already use Netflix regularly. I like being able to pick what I want to watch when I want to watch it. And I don't mind waiting for it.
Exactly.
What do you know? Gamingbolt is right. I did buy Echochrome, and I have Pacman Championship Edition, but on my iPhone. I actually had Blazblue in my hand the other day, but I didn't buy it because the line was too long.
This list has given me some games to go try. I love great sleeper games.
It's not a moral or ethical issue. This is exactly what Terms of Service is for, and everyone must acknowledge the ToS before being allowed to connect to PSN for the first time.
If you want to modify your system and do things with it that Sony doesn't want you to do, I don't care. You paid money for the hardware, so hack it to bits for all I care.
But access to PSN isn't a right, and nobody is entitled to it. You are granted access to a close...
