Fools rush in, indeed. My 60 GB PS3 bricked itself. It didn't need help from custom firmware. My new slim, however, doesn't have to worry about custom firmware bricking it because I won't be installing any.
Activision doesn't want to patch a fix. Black Ops is the new hotness, MW2 is old and busted. They even say that you should be playing Black Ops. Seems pretty transparent to me.
Nobody is going to lose their job. The price will not be honored and the order will be canceled.
Good to see there's so much support for such a great game.
I had a hard time reading that article. It just rehashes what other people are saying and throws in a dash of doom and gloom.
Normally they just cancel the orders and send out an I'm sorry for your inconvenience email.
I want a release date. Preferably sooner rather than later.
I'm glad that I own PS3, 360 and Wii. I win either way.
I think the answer to the question is that Microsoft wants their core gamer to be the kind of gamer that uses Kinect since that's where the focus is right now.
Gary McKinnon hasn't been convicted of anything, either. Just saying.
I hope that sooner or later the hackers get the message. Too bad these guys aren't afraid of lawsuits. If they were they wouldn't be hacking to begin with.
The problem with these analogies is that no criminal charges have been filed against Geohot. This is a civil matter unless Sony can convince some district attorney's office somewhere to press criminal charges. In that case the government could get a warrant and seize Geohot's stuff. And even under the DMCA Sony has to have a judge's approval to be able to take his gear.
Even though we don't like what Geohot did, he still has rights and the only way the system ...
Geohot didn't have a donation link on his site. In fact, he said on his site that any donation links were scams and that he wasn't looking for donations.
And just because evidence is FULLY ADMISSIBLE in court doesn't mean that it is good evidence.
The $1 donation was lame. Just because someone has a Paypal account doesn't mean anything.
I agree with you, sir. This was just my pathetic attempt at highlighting the irony of mightyboot's comment.
So if Sony sends $1 to my Paypal account does that mean I'm accepting donations for whatever they believe I'm accepting donations for? That particular piece of evidence is the textbook example of circumstantial. And it is also entrapment, because they're trying to bait him into performing the action that they're accusing him of.
I guess they're going to throw everything they've got at the wall and hope that at least some of it sticks.
The Electronic Frontier Foundation has come to his defense in the past. Wouldn't be surprised if they support him again this time.
I never said that you couldn't talk about NPD in an NPD thread. When did I ever say that?
And give what a rest? Making fun of the America doesn't equal The World drumbeat we see every month at NPD time? Nope, not gonna do that, because seeing so many people faithfully reiterate it is something I've come to look forward to every month.
Rational people seem to know that NPD doesn't equal the world. It's the people who don't like what the...
I actually do enjoy the Kevin Butler ads. They're pretty funny most of the time.
Strong holiday considering the economic climate.
Great game!
