I'm going to give you a bubble vote for being funny. Because this was neither helpful, intelligent, well-said or interesting.
It's not like there are that many 3rd party exclusives these days anyway.
I think that the premise of the article is naive. The notion that DRM hasn't been implemented on consoles because the hardware is proprietary is a fallacy. Every console released since the NES has had some sort of DRM at the hardware level that attempted to keep the console closed to non-licensed developers. The NES lockout chip and Tengen's reverse-engineering of it is a prime example.
What makes DRM on consoles sketchy is the same thing that makes DRM on PC's so...
I don't agree with the author's opinion. I think that any game that's well designed and implemented can be successful with the correct marketing behind it.
It is my opinion that good games die for one of two reasons. The first is lack of exposure, the second is over saturation. Racing has always been more of a niche genre than a mainstream one, and there are really only a few series that have broken out of the niche status. Two of those are Gran Turismo and Forza....
This is so funny!
Totally agree with you. Of the 5 articles on the site only two have any inkling of truth to them. The other three are "I have been told" and "an anonymous source says" are the basis.
Very poor submission in my opinion.
Good to see good games moving hardware.
Online multiplayer over 3G? I hope there's some serious compression technology in play that actually makes that possible, because my experience with 3G is that anything other than web browsing is sketchy at best.
I will own a wifi model, just depends on the launch price and games available.
I wish I was as lucky as you, but I hear what you're saying. I wish I had learned guitar, too.
I lost both my launch 360 and PS3 to unspecified hardware failure. But their replacements are still going strong. It seems like the more complex these things get the shorter the lifespan.
Of course the source must remain anonymous, and the only website that knows it is one that just sprang up two days ago. Love these kinds of rumors!
Many people view Metacritic as a real-time strategy game I guess.
Wow. N64 thrown out as old school. I never thought I'd live to see the day. I must be a stone age gamer.
But that was a pretty bad game. I agree.
I read his plea on http://www.geohot.com and I have to say that he really disappointed me by playing the victim card.
His downfall was falling into the same self-serving trap that other hackers fall into. He wanted the notoriety. He wanted the fame. Well, he got it. I hope it's worth it.
Geohot wouldn't be in this situation if he had hacked his PS3 and kept the findings to himself. Or, if he felt...
I'm grateful that there's a market to compete in. The more competition, the better for me.
I'm not worried about the disagrees. It must be hard to live in a place where people immediately judge you based on stereotypes.
I read the article and it is very interesting. I may be misinterpreting it, but if this guy is worried about the implications of someone seeing him with magazines that have ads containing overly-sexualized teenaged girls, perhaps he should stop buying magazines that contain those ads.
Ready for some Portal now.
Poor Velocity Girl...
I'm really looking forward to this. June can't get here soon enough!
Free is free. They didn't have to give out anything.
