PowerPC is a good call for a device like this. RISC architecture in a specialized device makes more sense than using a general purpose architecture like AMD / Intel.
I don't expect that you're going to see much scripting language use, though. Maybe, but what kind of applications would be suited for Python would there be?
Sounds like it will be obsolete right out of the box. Well, not by Nintendo's standards, but compared to other hardware that will inevitably be releasing this will be underpowered pretty fast.
Compelling value proposition for buying Portal 2 on PS3. Buying Portal 2 was always a given, but getting a free copy for my Mac is more than full of win!
Looks like they're introducing some of the same kind of tongue-in-cheek humor that we see in the GTA and Saints Row franchises, but aiming at other games. I love this kind of stuff.
I don't know about anybody getting "owned", but with the way it ended the whole thing was just a massive waste of time and money. All of this wrangling for a promise to never do it again.
Seems like a tie to me.
Completely passively. There is no stipulation in the settlement for monitoring.
Read it for yourself.

So pretty much this whole thing was a huge waste of time. All of that time and money spent and all that came out of it was an agreement from Hotz to not hack Sony's stuff any more.
Makes me wonder why Sony agreed to drop the case. My guess is that they didn't want to risk losing and subsequently set a legal precedent that left the doors open for hackers. But I guess we'll never really know.
The settlement doesn't say that Hotz can't own any Sony products. It says that he can't hack, distribute hacks or point people to hacks for anything related to SCEA, PSN or Playstation.
He can still own them if he uses them legally.
Last I heard Sony sued Hotz. Why would Hotz expect to get anything other than out from under the lawsuit?
I don't understand the reasoning.
Tend to have to agree with you there.
Man I hope that's not the case. There has to be some good ideas left.
I ended up enjoying Crackdown infinitely more than the Halo 3 beta. Crackdown was a heck of a lot of fun, especially in online co-op. Halo 3 was just more Halo to me.
Hacking in and of itself isn't the problem in my opinion. People have always been naturally curious, and people have been reverse-engineering technology as long as there has been technology. Why do they need an excuse?
The excuse is used to defend themselves when the hackers release their findings looking to get credit or gain reputation for what they've done. And it's just that, an excuse.
I know I'm in a minority, but I'd take a new console in the next year or so if it actually meant an evolution in the games we get.
I love my current gear, but to me there hasn't been much of a leap from last gen to current gen in terms of gameplay. Graphics, yes. Some of the games hitting this year have the best console graphics ever.
Gameplay, not so much. There hasn't been much of a leap in terms of what we're able to do in terms of game...
Hopefully the PSP doesn't outsell it, too.
I had the chance to play with a 3DS earlier today. The 3D effect was pretty cool, but I wasn't able to use it for long.
Nice if true.
Lots of internet tough guy going around. Anonymous is only doing it for the lulz. That's why they do anything.
Good to see things going so well.
