If there's going to be some muscle flexing then I say to bring it on! I'm looking forward to some awesome games. Uncharted 2, I have my eye on you!
Exactly which fighters are out there to compare. There's been a tragic dearth of fighters this generation. It's all shooters all the time.
The Kojima fan base is out in full force. I found the article rather mediocre, but a bit insightful. I've always thought at Kojima was a little spoiled and high-strung. The interview shows his frustration at Japan's closed-mindedness when it comes to things that are non-Japanese.
It does knock a bit of the wind out of fanboy sails when he says his current favorite game is Left 4 Dead. He's open enough to play and enjoy games on a non-Sony platform, so that's something for everyo...
So if American developers aren't making games people want and Japanese developers aren't making games people want, then who is? American and European developers are both considered "Western" developers. So who is left?
Kojima said "I'm addicted to Left 4 Dead right now, but people say to me that that game would never work in Japan."
He's not saying that it won't work in Japan, he's reiterating what he's been told. The subtext, based upon the next few sentences, is that he may believe that it would, but nobody will know because Japanese publishers wouldn't give the game a chance.
I think that anyone would be a fool to argue against the notion that Sony has a larger overall customer base for console gaming than Microsoft does. PSP owners are given access to PSN via their handhelds, and there are a heck of a lot more PSP's in people's hands than there are PS3's or 360's right now.
There is no "PSN is better than Live" or other "my service is better than your service" subtext here. Based on the number of Sony users out there the 17 millio...
I must be the only person in the world that has had a successful Vista implementation.
One game doesn't prove superiority, really.
When it comes to games I don't see either the PS3 or 360 as being graphically superior. I have both systems and a decent library for each. Each one has some great-looking games. In terms of vibrant, colorful graphics I think that Uncharted is probably the best I have ever seen. However, I think that Mass Effect also has fantastic graphics.
I've experienced framerate issues on both systems. I've experienced VSYNC/screen tearing issues on both systems. I've had good experiences an...
That's a pretty lame analogy. Not to mention downright offensive.
I think that the article itself is kind of lame. I don't enjoy Home that much, but I'm sure that there are people who do, so c'est la vie. I don't understand why people would compare it to NXE, since the two are completely different things. But I suppose that people need *something* to fight over.
I'm afraid losses are going to be the tune a lot of businesses are singing. It's pretty rough out there.
You can probably count on having to license it for each machine.
I agree that most computers ship with re-install software. But who wants to wipe their drive and re-install XP or Vista when the beta ends. Either way people are going to be complaining about it.
I liked the old blade system better. I wish they would let us choose.
The price of DVD players dropped from about $1,000 at their introduction to around $100 3 years later. I'd say that prices for DVD players dropped much faster than the prices for Blu-Ray players have.
I agree. This is a mixed bag. It's great that there are 10 million Blu-Ray players in US homes, but when the primary use of 50% - 70% of them is for a reason other than playing movies that sort of changes the view of the situation. To get Blu-Ray adoption up standalone players are going to need to take off.
Is there any OS that never has problems with a device? I've yet to see any that are 100% flawless.
I'm just waiting for the barrage of "Microsoft makes Windows 7 beta users pay $300 for full OS" and "Windows 7 beta runs out, leaving PC's unusable" posts. It's a bad idea to install this beta as your primary OS. Create a partition and dual boot your machine, but by all means be smart about how you install this.
Tomorrow I'm going to see if I can find Facebreaker and Ninja Gaiden II. I'd pay $10 each for those. Maybe Turok, too.
The article lacks a frame of reference. If they were the author's top 5 most anticipated games then I could see it. But Wheelman? Give me a break!
I'm probably the only person around here that's not excited for Killzone 2. But generally I couldn't care less about shooters, no matter how good they look. It seems like I'm one of the few that's stoked for a new PunchOut, too. But that's ok. If that makes me a casual gamer then I can live with the label.
