That makes sense. Bubbles for you.
I'm looking forward to both APB and any future Crackdown games. I really like open world games. I really need to get Fallout 3 soon...
I do agree that Crackdown was alot of fun for a while, but that fun quickly turned into boredom as you transitioned from fighting crime bosses to searching the rooftops for those damn green orbs.
GTA actually had an awesome story, though, that kept me playing long after I quit Crackdown. And it's still fun to mess with people and get chased by the cops. And nearly every free roaming sandbox game gets boring after you beat it. In my opinion, GTA is the best in this genre.
I don't think your facts and logic will be appreciated on this site, though. Here's some bubbles for your time.
Sony probably thought the console, the third in their largely successful PlayStation franchise, would sell very well despite the high price and dismal starting software lineup because of blu-ray and free online play.
It didn't quite work out that way. But for all I know, Sony could have expected things to work out how they did. Though I think they'd have done a few things differently if they foresaw the system's present state.
Why would the "American" media be biased against Sony but not Nintendo? I swear. And if they're biased, I'm sure there's a reason.
do you mean way more convoluted and confusing? I loved MGS3's story, but the fourth game, like the second, is way too complicated to the point where it's just lame. And what makes it worse is that this complex story requires nearly as much cinematic time as play time. The game itself is great, and it is definitely GOTY-worthy, but in my opinion the GTA IV story is just better. It's a classic crime drama worthy of the silver screen. MGS4 would only work in a video game. That's what seper...
Seriously, the PS3 is great, but I feel that Sony's killing with its terrible marketing campaign.
It's hard not to notice that everyone in college has a 360 or a Wii, but only a few of us have PS3's. It's because the 360 and Wii are, or are marketed as, very affordable. That's a huge plus during a recession.
Basically, the next Playstation could be the best system ever, and it would sell terribly if Sony doesn't improve in that aspect. The average person would...
A prime example is Metal Gear Solid 4. Sometimes it seemed I spent more times in loading screens than actually fighting(particularly at the end of the South American part when you're on top of the APC).
I'm not saying that the 360's any better, but that game had the most noticeably annoying load times of any game I've ever played(minus the first stuntman).
but how do you know it's unbiased? Because you agree with most of the choices. In my opinion, there can be no definitive goty because everyone has their own preferences.
It seems to be a good list, but this site seems just as biased/unbiased as any other.
The graphics really don't look bad at all. I'm interested in the game for another reason. Or two other reasons if you know what I mean...
Those two monsters in the second screenshot look brutal.
People seem to like slamming the game without really understanding it. I'm glad someone else shares my love of the story. I also find it interesting that none of the five people who disagreed with my first comment felt compelled to explain their positions. I guess we'll never know...
yes. yes I do. :)
No. It doesn't look awful.
Thanks to it's reputation as a "family console", it's selling like crazy, despite having the least number of AAA games. Before long Nintendo won't even try to make quality games like Zelda or Mario because they'll be making a huge profit without their hardcore fans. It's really sad.
Or are you upset that another game didn't win this alarm?
I personally thought that the GTA IV story was amazing, definitely professional writing quality. I guess most gamers aren't used to good storytelling that the industry's been largely lacking in for so long.
Whatever, maybe it's just a personal preference.
I agree with most of the stuff on there. I loved Brucie in GTA IV, so it was cool to see he won an award. Also, I think that both Gears 2 and MGS4 have great graphics, but Gears 2 is definitely better in my opinion. They never really stood out to me as I played the game except for the final fight, which is basically an interactive cinematic.
So yeah. Also, GTA IV won best story. Awesome.
I don't think you've played the game. The shotgun is one of the starting weapons. Most people play the game by either running around with the shotgun or running around with the chainsaw. The chainsaw is cheap, but the shotgun requires a relative amount of skill, especially against another shotgunner. Also, it seemed like Soulja Boy killed the MTV dude with nearly every weapon on the map.
Just to clarify, I do think that Soulja Boy is an ass, and I really wanted the MTV guy to...
I'm not sure. But definitely not a fanboy. He just likes messing with fanboys. I aspire to be just like him when I grow up.
Soulja Boy really surprised me, especially in Gears of War 2. I always imagined him as a newb who runs around with the chainsaw, but it turns out he hates the weapon and even refuses to use it. I have to respect him for that. It was pretty close, and I think a rematch, or a contest between Soulja Boy and another game journalist would be awesome.
but it gets more positive press than either of the other systems. It is true that many Americans think for some reason that American-made things are the best, but that is just a dated stereotype. I personally think that more and more of us are accepting the fact that America is not always number 1 product-wise. And like I've said so many times, there is no bias. Maybe a lot of people just don't like the PS3.
And Prunchess, I'm a lot like you except opposite. I paid 500 USD f...
