Nintendo is great at innovation they always have been, IMO they need to convince both developers and gamers that they can still compete and not just settle for being a niche console that seemingly only caters to kids. Because the demographic that actually cares is in their thirties and is getting smaller with each console they release.
I doubt it will be a hardware upgrade as it relates to gaming one reason PSVR. Why would they want to alienate their core audience knowing a new PS4 version is on the horizon. I think if they do upgrade it will be only for the 4K capability and hard drive space but not much else.
As a early adopter and supporter of Sony I would be piss off and feel kind of cheated if it's a complete over haul it's been roughly three years and I feel like the PS4 potential has not bee...
You are not the intended audience for this game, it got praise for it's homage to old school level design. Is their not enough open world games for you to chose from? The story telling was a weak point for me personally but the gameplay and level design are what make it stand out in a sea of mediocrity.
@ArmchairAnalyst
We get it bro you want Sony to fail unfortunately the market will dictate that and it's looking like Sony has another winner with PSVR.
I wonder if new Gears of War will feel old to?LOL fanboys and their nonsense what a BS article give me some clicks.
The people that have a PC ready for the vive and oculus is a very small percentage when you take into account how many PC's are out there and the price tag alone is bound to discourage some. So why do people insist in comparing PSVR to the vive? It's like compering consoles to PC the same argument applies. They are two different demographics if we are talking about specs yes the vive and oculus have PSVR beat but how will that translate and be applied?
You can have 4K...
ND is one of the very few developers I trust to buy day one. So critics can say what ever they want I will give ND the benefit of the doubt play the game and decide for myself.
Where were these articles before Sony announced it's price? You don't see articles questioning wether the oculus or the vive are to expensive why? Why is PSVR is garnering this kind of negative attention? VR needs all the support it can get but it seems odd that the most affordable entry is being attack. Let me guess those clicks are not just for kicks.
@ Alexious
How hard is it to understand most PS4 owners that Sony is targeting for the initial release of the PSVR already have the camera and move, so it is accurate to price it at 399 and market it as such. Just because you don't have it and may need to buy it doesn't mean everyone else should.
Fanboys are just upset that Sony undercut their competition and are in a position to take the lead in VR. They seem to think that because PSVR is priced at 399.99 Sony is somehow being underhanded when anyone who has been paying attention already new that they would need a camera. All things considered PSVR is still the most affordable.
PSVR just makes PS4 more relevant it's just that simple. Everyone is talking about VR so no matter how you feel about VR it is what people are interested in discussing and MS has nothing to add to that conversation. Fanboys are gonna hate because they have no logical talking points other than to talk smack about Sony's decision to under cut the competition and saying how it's not worth the price.
Even when it's the most affordable, and then constantly bring up...
Some people want the PSVR to fail so badly.LOL silly fanboys the PSVR is the most accssesible even if you have pay more for the camera and move controllers it's still the most affordable.
@ Death
Why do care buy the oculus or vive? Sensible people that own a PS4 will buy the PSVR. Damn dude give it rest you don't like what Sony's got to offer it's okay there are other options for you. Why do you care what Sony's price point is if you are not interested. If you just want to complain it's your choice but again what's the point?
I didn't say you where salty I said you seemed, anyway the interest from hardcore gamers is there and the momentum is building by all accounts PSVR is poised to take the lead because of it's price range and huge install base that continues to grow. Either way it's a positive reaction to VR that's all that matters it's not like it's going to go mainstream out of the gate.
Some people are missing the point Sony knows PSVR will initially appeal to the hardcore fan base and it's safe to assume that a great majority of those people already own a camera and probably the move. So the entry price point is reasonable to that audience for everyone else they can buy the bundle with the camera.
Seems like your salty, no matter the interest is there and that's the point it doesn't need to sell x number as long as the people are talking and anticipating the new tech that's all that matters and that is good for VR and Sony.
The cinematic mode alone is a huge reason why I think it will be appealing to many. According to Sony all games and Netflix will support this mode. Compelling software and unique experiences are what will ultimately make it a cross over success, if we take into consideration the recent reaction to PSVR in Europe selling out in minutes it looks very promising for VR in the near future.
After reading the comments the spin some fanboys are doing is beyond delusional, at the end of the day PSVR is the most accessible entry into VR with it's price point and built in install base. Sony brilliantly positioned it's self to dominate by being the most affordable and accessible.
Sony's sucess with the PS4 and the strong positive reaction to PSVR has put Sony in a position to make a killing.
@ Death
Do you understand supply and demand? Right now the demand is high the evidence is that PSVR has consistently sold out it's current supply. So what does that mean? Well it means that there is a lot of interest for this product. The market dictates how much supply will be needed, I don't think Sony knew how much in demand the PSVR would be so their numbers don't reflect the supply needed.
Speak for your self you may not believe in PSVR and ...
