People getting bent out of shape over unofficial numbers, unless Sony has some sort of complete meltdown this trend will continue this whole generation. Sony out selling MS is old news but it's fascinating seeing fanboys and armchair analyst try and spin things one way or the other.
It's obvious by the comments that gamers care about sale's numbers but don't voice your opinion on the matter you might get some fanboy's but hurt. Anyway go to see that consoles are thriving despite some analyst predicting doom and gloom.
If ND doesn't want to develop a new Crash Bandicoot game let insomniac take a crack at it the re-imagined R&C looks awesome. Activision has failed with almost every attempt it would be wise of them to team up with Sony and give Crash new life again it would be win win situation for everyone including the many fans of the series.
LOL. How long have you been gaming? There has always been console wars the Atari vs Commodore, NES vs Master System, SNES vs Genesis, 64 vs Playstation, PS2 vs Xbox and Game cube. The difference is the internet and trolls trying to have a discussion on the internet is pointless.
I see this as Sony expanding their influence in the US more than abandoning the Japanese market.
I don't know any objective person saying that BC is not a fantastic feature to have, the problem is fanboy's trying so hard to make seem like BC is somehow so important that it's a system seller or difference maker when it's not. The average gamer and casual gamer just doesn't care and the PS4 numbers proof that.
How can the 360 be the king and lose the generation? If you want to say the 360 dominated in the US fine but world wide the Wii won and the PS3 beat the 360. When he mentioned 360 having better exclusives I kind of chuckled because it's a matter of opinion the PS3 had the game that defined the generation in the Last of Us, weather you agree that it's one of the best games or not is irrelevant many gamers and critics regard it as the pinnacle of that generation.
I have a hard time believing this game will have any significant large scale appeal when it releases on the PS4 some people will buy it no matter what but that's not the audience I'm talking about. If a game like let's say Horizon is available during the same time frame this game will struggle yet again like it did against bigger named games that have been more anticipated and it's destined to be overlooked yet again.
A piece of advise release this game a few ...
I simply don't understand this mentality MS had been charging for trivial things since it first launched and by enlarge has been praised for their so called better online service that they have charged for years. Sony has had BC for three generations and no one ever made a big deal about it until now why?
Simple because the X1 is BC so what so is the WiiU so was the PS3 so have many other systems yet it's not a big deal you want to know why because many people don...
WTF I have had my PS4 since launch and have yet to experience a significant hardware malfunction, and yes everyone will have different experience with the system but damn. Just stop trolling and buy an X1 already.
BC is a niche feature consider the back catalog of current games now available and ask yourself if the average gamer and the more casual gamer care, 9 out of 10 times they only care about current or upcoming games. Unless you care because of the console war it really becomes just another feature nothing more nothing less.
Yes there is a percentage of people that care about BC but in the grand scheme of things they are a minority by enlarge.
Looking back with rose tinted glasses people are fond of the Dreamcast but it was a commercial failure and once you start to scrutinize Sega's track record with consoles it is not pretty. The Sega Genesis was their best selling console and that was decades ago I understand the nostalgia factor but I don't think Sega is in a position to fail.
I for one would love to see Sega return the Sega Master System was my first console so they hold a special place in my heart but...
Some comments are hilarious I will wait and see and let the community decide which game is the better fighter. As far as IP's are concerned Street Fighter just carry's more weight it is what it is.
To many people take the console wars way to seriously, but how is this related to gaming look two people that like different things yeah that is gaming news.
Who are these experts? The same one's that predicted the last console generation? I personally think that both these VR devises will appeal to different demographics if you own a top of the line PC you will have no problem shelling the money for the Oculus Rift the same could be said for the core PS4 gamers that will want to experience a new way of gaming.
PR is part of the of the battle what is MS suppose to say? They will never admit that they are not in the position they invisoned themselves when this generation started. Sure they are doing well among gamers that are loyal to their brand but they have taken a step back from the previous generation no way to spin that. They have lost a great amount of market share that now belongs to Sony.
Wow I think some of these articles tend to exagerate both Sony and MS have issues with their networks neither of their services is perfect. It seems to me though that every time Sony has an issue it is blow out of proportion not everyone is affected by their down time all the time.
You got to love the trolls Street Fighter is an iconic franchise that should sell pretty good. FYI to those posting they will buy it on PC nobody cares when some of you are well knowned Xbox fanboys it's clear why you would mention that.
The ps4 numbers are very impresive but more importantly I like that patcher has to eat crow that dude is wrong most of the time and is a terrible video game analyst.
@BlackHavoc
What are you talking about no gaming company has ever had a complete monopoly over the video game industry. Nintendo is the only company that has ever come close to it and that was a long time ago.
So no even if MS got out of the console business another company seeking to enter the market could take it's place.
