It doesn't change the fact that they still have one of the weakest game's lineup and will continue to have so until said studios deliver games. So I don't care how many services, BC, cloud power, gimmick or trend MS has to sell. Show me the games a new Ip that makes me want an xbox, so far I'm good and so are many gamers hence MS woes.

You do understand that independent companies are commissioned to work on projects where they don't own the intellectual property right? As much as I hate EA and Activision some of the blame is on the consumer for being a willing participant if they weren't making money they wouldn't be doing this crap. Many gamers unfortunately don't care and this will eventually put pressure on other publishers to follow the money instead of allowing creative freedom to make good games.
Plenty of people will buy into this crap and it will justify their decision with the in game currency, I have yet to finish the main story but these kinds of articles aren't making me want to go out of my way to play the online portion anytime soon.
The only problem with his assertion is that features don't sell consoles games do, you can get into semantics but the numbers don't lie people buy consoles for games and the console with the most games tends to do the best.
Ever heard of market saturation even if this happens Sony is preparing for the eminent PS5 launch, so it really isn't saying much of how the current gaming market is behaving other than an old product has reached it's maturation point. If this happens you would think MS would be more worried because it would mean that Nintendo surpassed them with a far shorter time period on the market.
This would be more believable if MS had actually won a single generation since entering the console market, seeing is believing and so far all MS has done is set themselves to be more competitive. I seriously doubt that without any real exclusives they will dethrone Sony. The play anywhere approach gives people zero incentives to buy a xbox and enter their eco system so we will see who's strategy is the one that prevails.
