How is Sony behind in streaming service space? They have the only working model that is actually making them money. It would be like saying Sony is behind in the VR space until MS or Nintendo decide to jump in and all of a sudden Sony is behind because these companies enter that medium. Sony is in the best position possible moving forward and already have the studios to make great games. Sony is better positioned on every front for whatever changes come in the near future so your comment has ...

Did you not pay attention? The patent is for a specific method, you can patent anything as long as it's different than anything already on the market. It doesn't matter if x company already has a patent on something similar as long as x company establishes that what they are patenting is a different method, process, feature etc.
No they don't need to sell it to everyone but the sensationalist media and those cheering google on need to check themselves streaming games is far from the ideal way to play games and that will continue to be the case for a while.
All of these so called gaming services remind me a whole lot of how streaming video content has played out. The Netflix model is still the best. Google, Amazon, Apple may have the money but do they have the experience to know what gamers want? My money is still on Sony until someone actually delivers something compelling I will stick with the true and tested over the hype machines these companies will roll out.
Cool it replaced the vita as home of indy games and that's fine but the hardware's limitations will only get worse as we enter into next gen where I suspect many AAA developers will skip the Switch. Effectively cutting out a ton of games from the system, for better or worse this is the path Nintendo chose.
No not any time soon, PS Now has been on the market for quite a while and MS plans on transitioning to a cloud base service. Google entering the market is interesting but unless they have a magical plan to somehow address the same issues both of these other companies have had to deal with it's far from still being as viable. Traditional gaming isn't going anywhere anytime soon even if streaming and an all digital future is inevitable it's still a long way from being the most ideal...
Nah!! I will believe it when I see it, which developers have bought into it and what games will be available. So far I could care less, Sony and the PS5 is still my future purchase until I'm convinced otherwise.
It's a gamingbolt article not interested. Here is a question to those crying about cross play if it's so important why aren't more PS gamers boycotting, demanding and or pressuring Sony? The answer is simple we don't care either way you are the minority stop trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. No amount of whining is going to make more people care.
Why does every game have to be compared? I platinum both Bloodborne and Nioh if this comes close to either of those games it's a win and no those games aren't the same similar but not the same.
@locomorales
Ever heard of the customer is always right, it was never about women being present in the game it was the way they went about it, then back tracked when they got pressed about real concerns about the actual game. If they want to pander to a minority cool but you can't get pissed when their core audience looks elsewhere for the kind of experience they want.
I'm all for diversity as long as they aren't pandering, tell your story develop your characters however you see fit just don't force it down people's throat, then wonder why we hate their game when they have clear agendas.
Your paying for online access if you are paying only for the free games then don't complain drop the service but when Sony offered free games on PS plus it was to entice people to buy into their ecosystem since xbox live was much more popular at the time even though it was a paid service. You can't blame Sony for MS setting a precedence and many consumers willing to pay for said service. It's business that's how it works.
No it's no more horrific than this article blatantly and shamelessly trying to create controversy where there is none.
It should depend on the game if it's free to play and whether or not there are unfair disadvantages to doing cross play across the board, Sony has been doing Cross play with PC for a while so I don't particularly care if they do or don't. I feel like this has become a talking point for those that wish to throw shade but like BC it's not all that important to many people.
EA can pull the plug on Anthem when ever they want so, what makes you so sure they won't? Seeing that the game is slowly dying I'm not so sure that they won't. When will people learn these kinds of games have to be on point out of the gate to succeed long term or be supported with free/compelling content. Rainbow Six Seige comes to mind but if the community isn't on board or divisive like with Anthem the game will die ala Evolve insert every other game that wishes to make mone...
Sure that's why Sony, Rockstar and CD Project Red always make a killing hmm, no it's quality above everything else that is why despite the current trend of huge greedy publishers chasing GaaS they can manage to sell millions of copies. Not every game needs to become Fortnite if it did the industry would collapse it's that simple IMO what is missing is an industry wide curation process to limit the number of bad games being made.
No it's not the video game industry is over saturated with too many bad games, and publishers following trends which leaves developers between a rock a hard place of delivering subpar games and or fill them with micro transactions to appease publishers. Here is a thought stop chasing money and make good games the industry will collapse only if their products don't meet quality standards and as it stands now the bar has been lower more and more as time has passed.
People had doubts about Guerrilla doing an RPG even if they where excited for it, I didn't care what critics where saying about Days Gone when it was introduced and don't care what they are saying now. Sony Bend has a solid track record I much rather trust that than these so call journalist. It's going to be a solid game considering it's Sony Bends first AAA game I'm willing to give them the benefit of doubt.
Here we go again, why does it matter yes it's true minorities have been woefully misrepresented and left out of not just video games but the media in general and much of it in the past was due to lack of opportunities things have changed but by enlarge they haven't. Does it bother me as a minority not really because it should be up to the writers, artists and creators to have the creative artistic vision they want.
That being said what bothers me about the SJW and t...
MS has an identity crisis and their message and strategy moving forward has been pretty confusing. They can certainly throw more money at the xbox brand but that hasn't given them the control of the industry they wanted. It doesn't boast well for MS hopes at dominating the service model when Google and Amazon plan on entering the same space and those two companies and have equally deep pockets. Just saying.
