I did not fuse Lucifer, that would explain the 2 hour difference ;-)

I'm really looking forward to their next game now, whatever it may be.

Persona 3, 120 hours. Before that I had never played a game more than 80 hours. I tend to play many games on many systems rather than go for perfect completion on a smaller set of games. To each is own though. The most important thing is to enjoy them.

I agree MK_Red that the Wii has a higher number of poorly made games in relation to good ones.

I still contend however that the cause is because that system is so hyped and sold so much so quickly that it attracted even more greedy developers or maybe I should say publishers. It's really a typical bandwagon scenario.

It's like when online trading started, .com companies started, online auctions started, or like when fiber optics and wireless became popular. In each...

It's really not surprising. Many people are just not seeing the real cause and effect relation.

The systems that sell the most attract game developers that want to make a quick buck with the least efforts. Those games are always rushed and poorly made. Hence lowering the score average for the system.

A better measure would be to weight the score average in proportion to how many units each game sold. That way, these poorly made titles would not bring the console sc...

Sorry, not going to happen any time soon to the scale of replacing keyboard and mouse. Voice recognition has improved but not enough. It is slower because it has to do signal processing and it is not perfect still, it still misunderstands. There is no delay and misunderstanding in a key stroke or a mouse click.

Now, that being said, some specific application like hands-free phones and GPS can benefit from voice recognition. It works ok in those cases because you can train it...

Well, their analysis lost all credibility to me when they mention that in Japan, price is the most important factor. In reality, Blu-ray (the most expensive option to date) outsells HD-DVD the most (by a factor of 9:1)... you guessed it: in Japan.

Next, content is rated lowest because people polled didn't fully understand what it was. Except for early adopters and geeks, people don't buy new A/V equipment just for fun, they see ads about a movie (content) they really like and ...

Impressive indeed. I would guess that there are very little pre-rendered cut-scenes (maybe one at the beginning) and all the rest are procedural in-engine cutscenes. Also, some planet areas might be proceduraly randomly generated.

A lot of the vast games stated in the other comments that took little space is because they use procedural generation.

The main difference is that Sony and the BDA have many vendors. Sony couldn't take huge losses on standalone players without loosing the support from all the other BDA members and vendors. Toshiba can do so to push their format because they are the main (and almost only) vendor of hardware for their format.

My theory here (no facts, just a theory) is that like most rumors there are some truths but not what was originally rumored. Just like MS later said that they started working on the 360 once the original Xbox came out, MS must already be working on Xbox 720. Their partner Toshiba is probably helping them with protos and such protos will include a 3 layer HD-DVD 51 GB drive. The payout to Paramount and Dreamworks for them to release HD-DVD until holiday 2008 is probably to make sure that HD-D...

I agree with your comment but to tell you the truth I had reached that conclusion long ago and stopped frequenting both Gamespot (which used to be my start page) and AVS Forums.

I own all the console last generation and this generation too. I like games period. I don't want to visit the sites of each console, I want one site that covers all of them equally. Gamespot was ok last generation, this generations (the months leading to the PS3 launch) they took a turn for the worst a...

This was a great game and it deserves a sequel, in fact the first one deserved to be played more too.

Maybe they could do like The Orange Box and make new episodes (if it means we get it faster) packaged with the original game.

I hope so too, it was a wonderful game and I intend to replay it once it comes out on the Wii.

Market-wise, it should be an instant buy for anyone that liked Zelda TP.

Totally agree. That $150M was quite an act of desperation. Best example of artificial life support for a product; products should live and die naturally based of consumers voting with their wallets, not some shady corporate deals.

ShadowFlare, do you know the implementation details? They mention 2 HDTV tuners, to me that would mean it takes the signal from an HDTV broadcast. Or is it net streamed, like IPTV. Now that would be quite different and quite a feat.

If it is from broadcasts (tuners), then it will only work with DRM-free signals.

Sounds like a winning product for Europeans. Here in the US, with the state of HD broadcasts tied to badly supported CableCARDs, such a product would not make sense. Maybe in the far future but not in the near future. CableCARDs are such a mess. All because the FCCs doesn't have the guts to stand up to private interests.

Reminds me when the Wii first came out and people were reporting that the wiimote wouldn't work well if sunlight hit the screen and stuff.

The PS3 camera, just like the PS2 camera or any camera for that matter, will be susceptible to lighting conditions.

In any case, this game by its design is set to appeal only to a niche group (battle card players) and is not likely to break sales record of any kind.

I think the diversity is nice. I hope it pleas...

I believe that bias and bashing is poisoning an industry that should be all about fun.

I own all the consoles and they all have their strengths and flaws. Each one has some great games and some not so good ones.

I used to be a member at Gamespot and watch G4 regularly, when both those places started drinking the haterade, I left and never looked back. N4G has people from all sides so the opinions even out, still I think the users and most of all the general media...

I don't understand why every topic on this website has to immediately turn into a console war. Play games, have fun with what you have, no need to spread the hate on what you don't have.

Back on topic, I think short-term these acquisitions won't have much impact on the games that almost already done. I am a little bit concerned longer term, given EA track record on not treating their employees well, about the quality of the next games once the talent starts to leave from these ...

Nice screenshots. However I remained a little cautious after having been hyped by nice screenshots before that did not result in fun gameplay. Worth following and I am looking forward to a hands-on demo.

Psychonauts and Okami are the two best games very few people played in recent memory.

I won't go into details, you can easily research it, part of Psychonauts downfall was how it was handled early on with publisher\marketing. Hopefully Tim learned a lesson there and it will be handled better this time around.

I'm looking forward to his new game but to be honest part of me was hoping for a Psychonauts sequel. They could even have done a re-release of the first Ps...
