I'm enjoying grabbing two mobs with hulk, then using them to beat up their friends before slamming them together for a nice conal aoe. That and the aoe 5 hit smash. Built like a tank to give and take a beating.
While they did need to delay it based on the quality of the game currently, you do realize the game has been in development for a while now? It's not a new IP and story boarding started back in 2015 and they released an announcement trailer back in 2018. The only reason it's being delayed is because of all the negative feedback from their last trailer that showed graphics that are worse than many current gen games...
To give you an idea, Sucker Punch launched Infa...
Covid has affected development for say 5 or so months. Work started about 5 years ago with a demo trailer released in 2018. They've had plenty of time.
To give a comparison, Ghost of Tsushima work started around the same time, as Infamous First Light came out in August 2014. Yet that released last month and looked miles better than what was shown of Infinite (even on trailers and such in the spring).
And it has been in development since about 2015 when story planning started and in 2018 they released the first footage of it in the Slipspace Engine demo in 2018 ( https://twitter.com/Halo/st... ). They're gonna have to do a lot of crunch time to up the graphics to look like a true next gen game.
@TheExecutioner. That's from the original xbox which launched around the time of the PS2. When it came time for the next gen consoles, MS didn't want to call their next system the xbox 2 when Sony was releasing the PS3. 2 sounds inferior to 3, so they went the unconventional route with the 360 naming. Then that unconventional/confusing naming continued to the xbox one / one x and now series x and series s, while Sony has just gone from 3 to 4 (and 4 pro) and to now 5.
Next 2 weeks are open betas so everyone can decide. That said, starting missions won't really give you a feel of the end game (just look at Anthem). Hopefully they give people a glimpse of what the end game will be beyond repeating the same missions you have on higher difficulties for higher quality game.
One thing I'm hoping they don't do, it micro-transaction the crap out of it by locking 80 of the decent cosmetics.
Torn between nomad or street kid (for street connections).
Curious about trying it out next weekend. Thought at first it'd be a bare bones games as service crap with you having to wait months for content. That and coupled with Cyber Punk originally coming out in September, it wasn't on my radar. Wouldn't have been interested if not for all the people complaining about Spider-Man and then people linking the wartable info (80 missions at release). 2 free beta weekends should help that decision on whether to pick it up while there's ...
@Perty Remember when MS paid Rockstar millions of dollars to not release the GTA 4 DLC on PS3 for a year+, and Rockstar left PS3 gamers hanging about when it'd come out till just before it released (because MS didn't want them to talk about it)? They advertised the hell out of that...
They didn't plan on revealing it at the state of play (seeing as it wasn't announced), but it seems like it was getting leaked a while before it was set to be revealed so they just acknowledged it instead of playing dumb.
When they first announced it, it looked like it'd be a bare bones games as service game that was using the Marvel name to sell. That and coupled with Cyber Punk originally being in September, it wasn't on my radar. After people b!tching about Spider-Man, I saw someone link the wartable and how it had 80 missions off the bat with more free missions / locations to come. At the very least, I'll be trying out the free beta next weekend to see how it is.
After MUA 3 came out last year, they had big negotiations between Sony and Marvel to keep Spider-Man in the MCU. Not hard to see those negotiations / relationship transitioning into the gaming world as well, since they already had PS4 Spider-Man and PS5 Miles Morales on the way.
Not that their film rights give them rights to the video game character (they have film rights, not game rights), but Sony and Marvel did have negotiations (last year after MUA for Switch dropped) to allow for Spider-Man to stay in the MCU for future movies. They could have asked for some game rights, least short time exclusivity for Spidey in multiplat games in the future, or used the negotiations to get Spider-Man as an exclusive for a game that was just announced (in addition to all the p...
Sony did have contract negotiations with Marvel last year or so to keep Spider-Man in the MCU. So far, Sony has had the PS4 Spider-Man game and soon to be PS5 Miles Morales game. They probably got rights to Spider-Man for various games or at least for a period of time / timed exclusive for multiplats.
If you think this is bad, please look at MS and Rockstar for the Grand Theft Auto 4 DLC that took a while to come out on PS3 (Lost and the Damned came out Feb 2009 on 360, a...
@343
If it was 4 or more weeks, they would say over a month ago. 1 is not several. So that leaves 2 or 3 weeks as the time frame of "several"... And according to your definition, 3 weeks is classified as several and it is less than a month. And a 1 week difference is not going to have a huge difference on what's shown.
And if you want to split hairs, you can find "several weeks" or "several months" old videos of Last...
Cross gen is what will hold them back. Having to make sure a game works on an 8+ year old piece of technology, rather than focusing on the new systems (and PCs can be built to handle it as well, depending on the money you want to invest). You won't see a true first party next gen game on XsX for 2 years as a result.
It's a grand technical achievement for a system to play games from a previous system, even though most companies are offering upgrades this fall that all you to buy it on current gens systems and then later play the same game on next gen systems?
Yes, its anti-consumer to want your games to take full advantage of the system, and not be held back by 8 year old tech...
@Ram It's a company that has only released games so far for MS/PC praising MS. It's not like a 3rd party dev making games for both systems or a software developer like say EPIC.

People were right that it didn't need a pvp mode at all added to it. But damn, does the co-op look like it'll be fun. Great little free addition to the game coming out in a few months...
