The reason UMD did not work as a movie media was obvious to many before the psp was released. People are not going to pay the same price for a lesser quality/less featured umd as they are paying for better quality/more featured dvd's and the umd's were selling for only a few dollars cheaper than a dvd.

The thing about this, is most early adopters are going to be among the most educated about their purchase. Meaning they allready knew the offerings were not 1.1 compatible, and therefore alot of them would probably buy a ps3 as its the most likley candidate available today that could be updated to 1.1 and 2.0. This would also invalidate the assumption that ps3 owners do not buy blu-ray movies, which we know allready because blu-ray is far outselling hd-dvd with much less stand alone players. ...

I have to say that with all the other FPS games out and coming soon, Haze just isnt even interesting to me. I start looking into what its about and find myself just feeling like 'who cares'.
The thing that sucks about this, is I've been looking forrward to army of two. With each EA release, im hoping they will figure out how to code something that works on the ps3. Again, im disapointed. If Army of Two has these same problems, its going to suck.

You still need UMD (or a replacement cartrige system, etc) because memory sticks are still too expensive. the best you can get is an 8gb for 130-150 bucks. That would hold only 8 games which normally would be on single layer UMD, or 4 games that would use a dual layer UMD. You need some sort of external disk or cartrige for portable games right now. The only other alternative would be an internal HDD which still would be limited to a small capacity considering the micro drives that are out to...

I agree, not sure if its the same reasons as you though.
For me, GTA has never been a game that i cared about the story. I want mayhem pure and simple. The humor, driving, and freedom is what draws me in and it SEEMS that gta 4 is putting all that in the backseat in favor of the story. I hope im wrong about that, because I for one would be really happy with a san andreas style next gen gta, and am not looking for a different game in gta 4.
The free drive is what hooks me. I just hope its not another ps3 EA letdown

I kind of agree. I know they like to show whats coming to help sell systems (they = all 3 of the consoles). But its pretty annoying hearing about something, getting interested then finding out you have to wait a year or 2 or even 3.
@21.1 I prettymuch agree. The people on websites like this talking about games really are the minority of all the gamers. So hype made by us really doesnt account for much.
