"which omit video game consoles,"

go on most home theater sites, when someone asks 'standalone or ps3' the majority recommend buying a ps3 instead of a standalone. If your going to count players, you should cound the hd-dvd addons and the ps3's.

I seem to be oposite of alot of people. The more i hear, the worse it sounds to me. Dont get me wrong, alot of the new stuff is nice, mainly the extra detail. But ive never played GTA for realism, Ive allways played it because i can do what i want, when i want, how i want. More and more its sounding like a sandbox version of a shooter instead of a cartoony 'do what you want' world.

Heres the thing, Microsoft keeps putting out new versions of Windows and Office and other products because thats how they make money. We understand that. However, it would be a much much better business model if instead of removing the old (usually just getting somewhat secured and stable from patches) versions, Why not offer a maintinence agreement. Those of us who are happy with the current version could subscribe for a yearly fee and still recieve new patches and upgrades to the versions w...

I think most agree that large conglomerates buying any creative outlet (music/video/game companies) does nothing but stifle creativity. The huge corporations try to apease the masses and start using targeted studies to see what the people 'want' and put much less money/time into projects that break away from any standard ideas.

It would be helpful if the article mentioned how much the dev tools were before the price cut or something. Are we talking 1k, 10k?

The playstation store is poorly organised imo. The 'whats new' and list of popular downloads are pretty useless and waste a large chunk of space. The main page should have folders containing each weeks updates from the past couple weeks '02/08', '02/01' etc. With the next page containing everything organized by type 'demos', 'games', 'add-ons' etc. And if they want to include a 'popular downloads' list, just make it a button you can click on and see the list.

Probably, Also probible that those articles will be written by the very same people who did nothing but bash the ps3 all of last year but now see the bandwagon rolling and change their tune.

There are so many reviews for the same games on this site. Wouldnt it be better to have a review section, and keep the NEWS in the NEWS section?

eh, i have a ps3. if it ever breaks, im not such an ass that im going to bother the ceo of Sony for personal help. There are proper channels in place for repair, they should be used. People shouldnt be rewarded for circumventing what the majority must go through. Its no different than cutting in line and being let through.

"For the third straight week, blu-ray leads hd-dvd in sales according to Home Media Magazine."

3rd? isnt it more like 50th?

"have now opted (or, not to put too fine a point on it, been bribed with barrow-loads of cash) to release their high-definition prints solely on Blu-ray discs"

Unless a company says they took money (which they HAVE to if they did as they are all publicly traded companies), This is opinion. Opinion IS NOT news and does not belong in a 'news' article on a 'news' site.

Digital downloads might be partially successful in the near future, but wont 'take over' for quite a long time for a few reasons.

1. Many many many people do not like the idea of not having a physical item when they purchase something. Buying mp3's does not transfer so easy to buying movies. As its MUCH quicker to move a small mp3 around, it has helped people seperate themselfs from a physical media. But, alot of people still steer clear of downloaded music and buy CD's. Being ...

Wouldnt their email RESPONDING to you be their 'official response on the matter'?

"Now about buying a player from now on... Bluray is the choice or dual format player, but buying an HDDVD right now it's just a waste of money. "

I believe it would be less expensive to buy a standalone hd-dvd player and standalone blue ray player, than it would be it buy a dual format player.

step one: sell product for rediculously low price (aka fire sale)
step two: consumer with soon to be (almost) useless product, buys SOMETHING to use with it (a video player is useless without videos 'doncha know)
step three(a few months later): (mostly) uninformed consumer realises his purchase was not a hot new up-n-commer, but a quickly dieing format..has feelings of being ripped off...oh well at least it plays dvd's also..

"If you Rockstar Games gets a phone call with whether you do not even want to Munich decline to name Grand Theft Auto IV check, then you do not say no. If you also have a GTA fan of the first hour, you do not doubt your second. "

What does that say in English?

I have the 60gb, but i really must say the BC is nice to have but i NEVER use it. The card reader is nice to have but certainly not a 'must have' especially since USB memory sticks are so common. Other than that, the 40 gb has everything the rest do. I dont really think its a big blow to drop the 80gb right now.
