Got the ps3 demo, and I basically agree with the article. Fun for a few minutes, but i wouldnt buy it.
@the disagree.
You're saying i Have turned my wii on since june?
"but no one is actually playing games on it."
I havnt turned on my wii since june.
to elaborate on hotshot127's comment, the reason developers try to make both platform's games look the same (as close as they can) is because they want to deliver a similar experience, not be looked at as favoring one system. Multiplatform games are typically aimed to be as similar as possible on all the systems they are released on. Exclusive games are where developers take advantage of strengths of a given console.
That being said, these comparison videos are a bore unless it...
“We want our customers to feel like they are getting a good value.”
Then dont use consumption based billing.
I dont bang meat... the comparison doesnt make sense to me.
'...this move by toshiba...' are we sure its a move by Toshiba, and not just retailers unloading soon to be worthless merchandise?
They could invent a time machine, go back and fix the deal they had with the blu-ray folks for a unified hd media.
because a demo is a single track and a car or a few cars. Prologue is 50 cars, online racing w/ 16 players, 5 tracks, and the standard other GT things like upgrades and licenses. There are many 'full' games out there with much less than prologue has. It's hardly a demo.
Everyone can keep their reviews on this game. I and alot of people will buy it regardless.
on alot of items, a ps3 included, retailers make very little over what they pay. They make much more profit on things like accessories, cables, and media. Computers are in the same boat. Most computers generate less profit than a printer cable for a retailer.
interesting idea, but I cant see myself wearing a body suit to some video games.
firmware update for their device. 'Firmware' is not a ps3 specific thing.
I couldnt agree more.
A warrantee does not make something reliable. It makes it cost free to repair if something goes wrong. You can have a 100,000 mile warrantee on your car, but that makes it no more reliable than a car with a 30,000 mile warrantee. It just means if it breaks at 50,000 miles, you get a free repair.
The thing about this people fail to think about. Anti piracy features (in any format) are never expected to be bulletproof. The sole reason for them is the same reason people lock their cars or their houses. Locks keep honest people honest. If someone wants to get into your car or house, they will. If someone wants to crack a new anti piracy feature, eventually they will. The trick is, to keep it hard enough of a process where the majority wont bother. That is what makes a successful anti pir...
i still dont even use up a 20 gb hard drive...
Backwards compatability in consoles is a strange thing. Most people want it, few people use it. I was glad my 60 gb ps3 has it, however ive only played 1 ps2 game on it since i bought it (gta san andreas, once). However even now, knowing i really dont use backwards compatability, i still want it to be there. I'm sure its basically the same deal on the 360 side. Like i said, its a strange thing...
Ravinash hit the nail on the head. This isnt a problem confined to video games. Many car magazines give very very light reviews to new cars because those same car manufacturers buy advertising from them.
I dont care what industry you are in, if you make a product, and you are paying for advertisement with a magazine/website/radio station/television station for said product, you are going to be annoyed/pissed if they are ripping your product apart.

So why arent all the car companies getting together to stop used car sales?
