that video = major pwnage. Well played, sir. ;)
The 920˚ on an article about box art. I feel like I just got Rick rolled.
How well can you judge performance based on how a single proto-game responds?
The real test of saleability is going to when we look at the Natal lineup MS comes up with, and the quality and response of those games.
I mean, how hard is it to put together and optimize a bare-bones dodge-ball presentation? And how much lasting significance do you suppose it'll have with games like that?
The real test is yet to come, folks. I'm just say...
Also..."The Xbox 360 is a money making machine which has enticed some developers who were PS3 exclusively, to go mult-platform."
Well, you heard the admission here first: the 360 is not a game console. It's a money-making machine.
Hilarious. I must have a fan - The Phantom Disagreer strikes again! ;)
Gabe doesn't give a crap about open platform - right, like the 360 is totally open? He's just finding yet another reason to hate on the PS3.
Because to get a game out of the slot, I have to tickle it. Ok, I don't HAVE to, but that's the joy of touch-sensitive buttons. ^_^
We've all been talking, and we think it's finally time for you to STFU. ..Actually, we think it's long overdue. So please, for the love of all that is holy - stick your head back in the Doritos bag and keep it there.
Bubbles for that - I was waiting for someone to say it. ;)
Oh, and let's stop trying to legislate everything, shall we? Seems parents these days want the government to do everything for them, including raising their children.
Rich people sending poor people to die. Old men sending young men to their doom. Yup, that sounds like SOP for the military.
I think the only way the military is ever going to convert gamers to soldiers is if they use the "Surrogates" robot soldiers, operated remotely by squads of gamers in stim pods. Which probably isn't too far off now.
A million??? I think I'd need a new TV after that due to unidentified flying controllers...
MGS is a franchise that has flirted with permadeath - much to the frustration of players, who felt unfairly punished for a few minor mistakes. Note that later sequels did away with it.
No Death is a concept that the latest Prince of Persia tried, which ended up being pointlessly easy. Fall off a cliff and your teammate just pulls you back up again. Get killed by an enemy and she revives you. I've owned it for over a year and still haven't gone back to finish it, b...
"I don't actually believe that people only use their gadgets for mere entertainment. But if they do, do they turn to them for entertainment because they are innately shallow animals, seeking only to be shallower each day? Or do they turn to them because so much of the rest of their world doesn't offer the sorts of participation in which they feel welcome, the sorts of participation in which they feel they can make any difference whatsoever?"
This part of the...
Media Molecule and Sony are about to kick it into overdrive...omfg O_O
Somebody please show Barack the sales figures from the video-game industry...if he's truly concerned about the economy, it doesn't do any good to go around bashing a profitable market that continues to generate tax revenues on every game sold.
The CoD franchise is dead, and while I doubt it will rest peacefully (it'll probably take a couple of big flops before Kotick gets the message); I'm quite happy to kiss it goodbye. Along with the legions of rabid, slavering 14-year-olds who mindlessly shoot their allies while spewing verbal diarrhea and cackling hysterically.
If anyone wants me, I'll be on the Battlefield with the rest of Bad Company 2.
The possibility of Activision working with Bungie on a Starcraft console game? How awesome would it be to be able to build bases and gather resources; with Halo-style FPS playability? Hose down some Zerglings with a Gauss rifle and stimpaks as a Marine; or some poison spines, claws and teeth as a Hydralisk; or energy armor and warp blades as a Protoss Templar.
Just throwing that out there as something good that might come out of this..
Not once did I see Call of Duty mentioned. Talk about jumping the shark..
The author's all bent out of shape about the lack of server maintenance. Why wonder about it, though? Infinity Ward's jumped the shark. They barely have enough people to put out their next game, never mind paying any attention to existing ones.
