..when Sony took away my precious B/C. Then I laughed because my launch PS3 was still working. Then it stopped working and I cried.
But honestly, I have only a handful of PS2 games that I went out and picked up - compared to two overflowing shoeboxes full of PS3 titles.
So in the end, it was probably a smart business decision, however hypocritical it may have been. I don't delude myself that Sony cares about its fanbase directly - it's a corporat...
There are a lot of cool games out there that I wouldn't mind owning. But I simply cannot afford to shell out $70 for games two or three times a month. Take a look at the economy, then take another look at video game prices, add-ons, etc.
And sales are down? Shocking. Could people need money for - you know - real life stuff?
If they're going to keep those prices where they are, then they should quit flooding the market. ..And do I need to point ou...
They were actually expecting hardcore gamers to be the first ones to pick it up, assuming 'hardcore' meant "one who buys everything we sell". Too late, the realization dawns that the actual meaning is comparable to "connoisseur" - and now they're pleading for leniency.
Game companies, please take note and adjust your industry practices accordingly. ;p
Nuri's nailed it. They're just getting it online - all the bells and whistles will be added later. This is Sony's M.O; look at how they approached Home, for example.
That isn't to say I think it's going to be an XBL killer - I'm highly skeptical about the viability of PSPlus, but even I know not to expect too much too soon.
double-post due to stupid browser malfunction. please ignore.
"Kinect is beating Move, and Xbox 360 S is beating the PS3"
None of these has been released yet. The 360 slim comes out in July, and Kinect won't be out until November; the Move isn't scheduled for release until September. Where exactly is this moron getting his numbers?
Microsoft never actually denies the Red Dot...nor do they actually answer the question. Go back and look at the question and answer again - I find that verrry interesting.
Remember what the 00 stands for? You need at least two kills to become a Secret Agent. So...yeah.
I didn't like the old Bonds - too damn smug and snooty. I like Craig's interpretation because it's far closer to the reality of wetwork; he's a trained killer.
I don't share your sense of "I owe it to Sony to give them a shot". If anything, Sony owes *us* a service that rivals XBL - especially if they're charging the same price point. So it had better measure up if they expect us to start forking out extra $$$.
"Don't want to take these criticisms lying down? That's okay, we hear Kinect is “Optimized for Standing.”"
That's the only part of the article worth the time it took to read, and only because it's funny.
Oh, Microsoft...in denial again, are we?
Sure. Just don't try to use it sitting down. Or to play real games. ;)
So I think, in the end, it's you who's going to be pissed off.
Go...nobody cares.
EDIT: Except Briefcase Joe. ;)
^^^ That is my response to the idea of a "killer app" for Kinect. ;)
That's the thing with console gamers - competition and aggressive behavior are traits that make us good players, so no wonder fanboy wars ensue. It's a bigger game on a bigger playing field, and in the end everyone wins as game companies (and their fans) vie with each other for first place.
And clearly, Sony has already won this round. PWNED!
..And A¢tivi$on isn't in the business of spending money - they'd prefer to simply MAKE money exclusively.
"The costs to transform your bank account into an open wallet for us to siphon off directly are minimal, but I wouldn't rule out charging a large fee for it anyway."
Because I'm never paying extra $$ on top of my $70 per game just to play it online! NEVERRRRRRRRR! I'd sooner be frozen in carbonite.
