Yes they have made some good games lately like dead space and spore.
But they need to stop the dodgy dealing.
leaning to much for charging for downloadable content like bad company, or the whole data protection stuff in Spore which made everyone down load the game instead in protest.
Just a year ago they looked like they were trying to take over the games industry....now they look like they have fallen flat on their face.
I would say that the 360 price drop has helped a lot with sales and given Xbox a boost. I'm just wondering if MS are making any money from them.
MS are very good at marketing and Sony could learn a lot from them in this area. Dropping the price before Xmas no question helped them get a bigger piece of the pie. Question is, will that translate into game sales where MS make the money, and were the sales taken out of the PS3 market or the Wii?
Each Console has something to contribute to the market.
Playstation was ahead for 2 generations and is a basis for how a lot of consoles are today.
The Xbox lead the way for online gaming with Xbox live and without it we would not have PSN or Wiis online network.
And of course Wii is leading the way this generation by breaking new ground for casual gamers.
Each console will copy off each other, but as such it means that we the gamers get a better gaming experience.
I'm not a big fan of platform games in general, so its not often a game like that which I enjoy. but LBP is a really fun game with a quirky sense of humor.
The game has plenty of levels on the CD and all the level people have publish on the network keeps the game fresh.
Oh, and its a good game to play with your girlfriend.
LBP and Valkyria Chronicles are two very good games.
Valkyria Chronicles may only appeal to some people, but I'm surprised at how little I see it around the place. If you go into the store, you really have to look for it.
....now turn around so I can kick you.
And its free.
So at the lest people are going to try it out.
True, but the fact that its a beta should make you realize that its a work in progress and that there will be bugs to iron out.
There is a lot of jumping up and down that people can't get in, but the fact is releasing it will expose bugs that just wouldn't show up before during testing because of the number of people coming on at once.
Its only been 3 to 4 days and over a weekend since it came out. Once they sorted out the bugs of people trying to login, then they can get to work ...
It took 3 days and a few attempts before I got on, and I got to use it for about 20 minutes before I got kicked out again. But that fact that I got in now shows that they are working on it and it will always be improving.
How many articles have come out over the last few days that have been magically quoting some other no body.
Most Blue Ray films are new releases (including films which have been re-released for BR).
So if a film is on DVD and sitting in the bargain bin, then of course its going to be cheaper than a new release BR.
Fact is a new release film will have similar prices on BR and DVD, but the averages when including cheap DVDs will make it look cheaper.
It won't be till BR starts selling in bargain bins that you will see a view that its at the same price as often people (I used to be o...
Sony had cut back 8000 jobs in non profitable fields.
There was no mention of PS3 or BlueRay being part of that.
I've got no problem with people stating facts if it makes makes the industry move ahead if it true. But please, stop making things up by putting 2 and 2 together and making 5.
Home is what you make it.
If you create the environment and you are the one who interacts with the people in there and you think it suck?
Then what does that say about you?
That you don't have any imagination to create an environment and your too antisocial to hang out in public because you keep going round calling everyone c0cks.
I'm glad you hate it, it means I won't see you in there.
Such a shame the betas have to be wasted on such idiots.
You have to remind they that their the idiot because they are the ones who spent all their money buying a console just so they can got about spoiling everyone ease's fun.
There should be an option to block these people I'm guessing?
Shouldn't take that long.
There are loads of other games and demos that are quite big, so I wouldn't expect home to be much bigger than that.
Very cleaver marketing.
I didn't know about Shopto.net and I've already got all the games their promoting....but they have made it onto my Favorites list.
What is really sad is people have lost their jobs and their income and all your worried about is you games console....very sad.
I hope you loose your job (asuming your old enough to have one) real soon...then you might wake up to the fact that everyone is in the same boat.
What are ya! A HD DVD owner?
BlueRay is doing really well, despite being in a recession.
Sony would no sooner throw out the golden egg (BlueRay) than it would the goose that layed it (PS3).
I didn't have any plan to buy Resistance 2.
Too many other things to play and Resistance 1 was OK, but didn't really ring my bell.
But then I went into Zavvi on Oxford street and saw their setup showing off the game and I was really impressed. I got the game in the following week and have been playing it ever since.
I think its really is one of those games that you have to play it before you can really appreciate it.
I think movies like Wall.E have brought these movies out into the main stream.
It should do alright if it gets advertised.
