Its just a way of letting the product sell it self.
Sony have gotten a lot of free advertising for this game.
The front page of Metro which is a free paper here in London had it full front page for a day as well as other papers.
You just need to get peoples interest enough that they will look into it, and then later people will hear from people who ave played it.
Sales won't take off right away, but there will be a higher steady stream of people as more and more start ...
Your saying that this game is aimed at little kids....guess that means you've never played it.
I enjoy playing it, and the people I know who have a PS3 enjoy it as well....and guess what....we're over 30.
The great this about this game is it open to what you make of it and theres enough in there to keep you entertained no matter what your age.

True, which is odd considering the games the Japaneses like is what could really distinguish PS3 from the other consoles....even in the west.
while I can under stand your view, the point of the game is to make its as real and detailed experience as possible.
If there was an explosion and everyone but the kids get killed, thats not what would happen. so this would take away from the effect.
Of course the best thing is to avoid the situation where there are kids there at all.

I think its fine to be able to kill kids if there are repercussions for it. Like if you did, no one will want to have anything to do with you. And people will come after you.

I've covered one shelf with PS3 games and blueray movies....so I'm guessing someones buying them.
oblivion was good, but it lost it for me when I got to the part of the game where I had to go round each town and close the gate out side each of them, By that stage each gate felt exactly the same and my character was powerful enough that there was no real challenge, so it was getting too repetitive.
I'm looking forward till Fallout3, I just hope the game has different environment to make the game varied enough and a story will keep pulling you along.
They seem to forget that Sony talks about PS3 having a 10 year life cycle.
That somewhat implys that there will be a PS4, otherwise its not really a cycle is it.
Plus Sony are making money on it, and it helped win the HD Media war.
I think all that will happen is they will learn the lessons from PS3 launch so the PS4 will come out fighting.
Question is, will Xbox try to come out a year earlier again or try and get more of a head start.
I thinks its a case of if I were making this game, I'd do it this way.
Which is fair enough....but If you just sit down and play the game, I think you'll find that you will be enjoying your self.
I didn't find the game as scary as I hoped for, but I found the pacing nice with the big fights, slugging matches and bosses balanced with the puzzles and exploring.
Controls are solid and haven't seen any problems with the graphics.
Also the fact that you can upgrade your wea...

It did have a bit of a hard time in recent years in its general trade but it had been turning things round.
And with its new technologies like the Cell and Blue ray, the electronics part of Sony have positioned them selves as best a possible going into the current climate.
You can also set it so it starts running Folding@home (now Playstation life) after a few minutes.
Although if it does do this, then you have to manually exit out of the program after picking up the controller.
Actually Chris, the first 50 people who were waiting in line at Virgin Megastore in London got free LCD screens for free (can't remember how big they were but they were big).
I had mine on preorder, and I remember thinking damn it...no TV.
Still, got my PS3 on open days and never regretted it. Although I did went out and got a HD 32" Bravia TV about 2 months later.
It might be that the 360 can do MGS4, all be it on a lot more disks.
The only problem is, by the time it comes out...the PS3 would have moved on.
After years chasing after the Playstations share of the market, they can see that ever so slowly, PS3 was catching up.
Now MS are changing tack and are now going after the Wii's market. What this will mean is cheaper consoles and cheaper, low budget games.
You will see less games like Halo and Bioshock that aren't cross platform, and more like Viva Pinyada and smaller games. Great for casual gamers, not so great for Hard core gamers.

I think the problem lies in that they are trying to push this game for the whole family, so if you've got this stuff popping up unexpectedly, their going to get some complaints.
LBP has been out one week and everyone has been raving about it and your saying its Financially not a success?
