It is an excellent FF game, if you look pass the mediocre character designs and crap story (it actually showed lots of promise right at the beginning and Vayne was looking like a cool antagonist that doesn't crave 'world-domination'...sadly it all went south in the 2nd half of the game).
I rank its open-world concept the highest of all the innovations in the series and Rabanastre is easily the best designed town in FF history. Particularly fond of the 2-tier design - clean and ...
what i don't understand is the need to limit the game content to 3 dvd worth of space. What's the problem with releasing it on 6,7,8 discs if that is the true game volume? Couldn't M$ waiver the per disc royalty just this once? It's an FF game for god sake
so what if i choose to focus on the negative points? They HAPPEN to be what i care about most, i don't give a sh%t about the score.
And for all that matters, isn't this the lowest scoring FF game they reviewed?
As for your dumb accusations..why the hell would I bash the game for no reason? Check the comment i left on the RPGFan article 2 days ago,how the hell am i being bias? FF13 is one of the reasons why i bought a PS3 in the first place and like i said, i waited 4...
"Literally you're just going from map to map, virtually all of them loaded with enemies and devoid of other content, most of them disappearing into oblivion never to be seen again once completed.
It is a surprisingly sparse game. Consider that including both playable characters and NPC's, there are only twenty named characters in the plot. Consider that even with the innovative auto talk system, whereby the game avoids text boxes and uses 100% voiced dialogue, you can count ...
"Exploring/experiencing/t alkin g to the characters in Shumi village or Winhill (as Squall etc) in FFVIII were some of my favourite bits about that game - and they're completely optional to even visit!"
I feel the same way. I love everything about Winhill - the background music,design,events...really memorable stuff :)
FF8 remains my favourite FF game to date, with FF12 being my 2nd fav.
here's one paragraph from RPGFan FF13 review that sums up what i...
i'm more into the modern-fantasy theme(FF8-style) actually, so i'm more excited about Versus. Not to mention the fact that i prefer real-time action combat like the Kingdom Heart and Star Ocean series.
personally, i KNOW i will be disappointed. I waited 4 years for this and with such a huge budget and dev time, i expected a NEXT-GEN FF masterpiece - expanded exploration(continuing from the good work done in FF12),amazing town architecture in full HD glory(again FF12), 100hrs gameplay NOT including sidequests...all the reviews i've read spoke nothing of them.
Towns are as much a part of the fantasy as the characters, story and art theme. Exploring the fantasy world and visiting t...
that stupid theme song better not be playing at every cut scene, it really ruins everything.
it makes zero sense to release both GT5 and GOW3 in the same month, this is a marketing move and a wise one too.
We'll probably see a single worldwide release date and allow both GOW3 and FF13 to dominate March sales.

the truly horrible one was TM4
it better be releasing THIS year, i've waited long enough
Heavy Rain,TLG,GT5(unlikely a sim will win but hey it's GT!) amd Agent(?)
this transfer patch is sweet no doubt but i like to see them focus on more pressing issues first
that the graphics department is given the highest score since i don't find it all that...but whatever.
Read the review and it's looking good i guess and truthfully, gameplay is not the most important thing i look for in FF games so i'll live with the score. VERY happy to see the difficulty increased.
"You may have heard rumors on the internets about FFXIII not having any towns and being basically a straight shot with practically no sidequests or content outside ...
Noted
all the way :)
i know better than to doubt Santa Monica but i'm still finding it hard to believe that is actual gameplay...coz if it's real...omg...
But of course, i'm more than happy to be proven wrong, so show us some vids HHG ;)
This is one game people will continue to talk about in years to come, and will most likely, along with Last Guardian and Heavy Rain, end up being the most unique game released this gen
there can only be 2 reasons
1) They didn't have enough time to polish it, which is no excuse really considering that they had 6 years of production time.
2) Their aim to fit it on 3 dvds. This is exactly what SE said.
Stuff gets deleted all the time but an entire game worth of content?!?!
And there's no way anyone can spin that into a good thing. Removing them for pacing issues is pure bullsh%t, they can easily be made optional and it will be a non-issue. More l...
