that makes sense :D
but the beta was awesome for me. Maybe 'cause i'm in SVER? :p
and NOT an actual MH4. Everyone's overreacting a little here - including me lol :p
Guess it's no biggie then, we are getting Sengoku Basara 3 as a PS3 exclusive. But this pretty much confirms that the REAL MH4 will be multiplatform - which is what everyone expects anyway
the original PS,PS1(the portable one),PS2,PSP,PS3 and i still have all of them now. Out of the list, my PS2 is the only one that isn't working BUT that is because a ****ing cousin of mine stepped on it while i was playing MGS3.
I might be one of those 'lucky' ones but from my experience, Sony generally builds quality hardwares. My dad is still using our 12 years old Sony CRT tv and my Bravia is still going strong after 3 years.
yea,i have great respect for the kotaku community, but none for the biased staff.
I was really amazed after reading the comments in the Demon's Souls GoTY nomination article. There were some really profound stuff there and they are really insightful. Then again, i always find it entertaining to read other's opinions of Demon's Souls. This is one game with a VERY passionate fanbase - including me :)
everyone has their preferences but the good thing here is that there is now a healthy variety of shooters in the market.
Small-scale FPS - KZ2(32 players but still counts),MW2
Small-scale FPS with vehicles - BFBC2
Small-scale TPS - UC2,Socom
Large-scale combat with vehicles - WarHawk
Epic-scale MMO-style shooter - MAG
i'm hoping to see Insomniac focus on co-op play for Resistance3.
imo, UC2 and Demon's Souls are tied for GoTY.
I had a great time with the beta and 8/10 is around what i would give it. Being an online-only experience that relies heavily on teamwork, a score of 9 and 10 will depend on the player base. The infrastruture is there and i hope to see the community utilizing it.
To those who have yet to play the demo and are basing their opinion on gameplay videos -> JUST TRY IT
I wouldn't have bought ANY FPS (or RPG) games if i had judged the game solely from watching others pla...
the Japanese won't buy this bullshit, not after the whole Tales of Vesperia and Star Ocean 4 fiasco. Watch this game flop and a port for the ps3 gets announced a year later.
Honestly, this is a game that WILL be developed with or without M$ funds. This is classic example of M$ using $$$ to prevent ps3 gamers from playing it, especially since Monster Hunter is a franchise that made its name on Sony's platform.
that was very insightful
i enjoyed Darksiders a lot too, just got a platinum for it a few days back. It reminds me alot of GOW though - i wouldn't call it a rip-off but it definitely borrowed quite a bit from the gameplay. Maybe you prefer the level design and RPG elements in Darksiders?
but IGN does that all the time. I was rolling my eyeballs every second when reading their GTA4 review.
Honestly, those guys sucks at rating stuff and they give in to hype WAY too easily. What's the point in using numbers if they are not going to set a standard?
but to me, GOW is the pinnacle of action games. NG series,Darksiders,DMC series,Bayonetta,Onimusha,i've played them all and none of them leaves as deep an impression in me.
I think it is the combination of the epicness of atmosphere, story, music, graphic s,combat moves(very cool and really fun),Kratos and of course, the boss fights. The battle against the 2 sisters in GOW2 remains one of my top 3 all-time favourite gaming moments. The other 2 are bossfights from Demon's Souls.
he actually expects people to believe him.
Seriously, why are you 360 f*gs trying so hard to downplay this game? Yes i know it looks miles better than any of your games and i understand it's normal for you guys to diss it in order to feel better. But why hate on Heavy Rain?
If you are a gamer, just be happy that there are games coming out that are *gasp* NOT another twitch-shooter. There are people out there who enjoys other genres and just 'coz it isn't your taste d...
but i think we all that it's only a matter of time, just like all of M$ timed exclusives. Honestly, if you guys want it so badly, just get the PC version. It's definitely superior and requires only a decent rig. If are not THAT excited about it, just wait a few more months and buy the PS3 version with added content. Personally, i wasn't too impressed by the first ME so i'll wait.
from what i've read, that McNamara guy deserves to get shot. He wasted $20 million++ doing jack before Sony decided to drop the project. Now i'm sure there must be some story behind it but....man...20 million+...we are looking at a UC2 budget here. Knowing all that money gone wasted instead of getting a UC2-quality game really pisses me off
but i'm most excited about Ushiro, a modern-fantasy RPG from Level5. Can't wait to hear more about it
can't believe people are actually complaining about the lack of action in the first 9 min, it's a tutorial for god sake. I've seen way more boring introductions(most of RPGs starts horribly, yes including FF games).
very impressive interface and that is one slick presentation :)
i often feel that pacing and content are more important than game length. Case in point - Darksiders. It took me slightly more than 17 hours to get 90% of the trophies (minus those you have to grind for) on apocalytic difficulty yet i would have preferred if they have kept it under 15. There's just isn't enough content to be stretched out over 17hrs and it gets really repetitive. It also left me with no desire to play a second time.
