The moral of this story is to not put stock in the unsolicited critiques of VR's market viability from someone who claimed they're ignoring the product and admitted to spending $150 on a product they only belatedly recognize was "niche & a commercial failure."
"It's unusual, but why should a tattoo have less worth than a painting, song or a logo?"
It's not about having more or less worth. Rights don't exist in isolation and are balanced against other rights in a society. This is why death threats can get you locked up despite being a form of speech.
The decision here gives undue consideration to the artist's copyright, with the implication being that it should trump Orton's right ...
@Orchard
Taken out of context?
I included your full quote for the first quote and gave the setup that led to it. The quote about you ignoring it is what it is. You are either ignoring it or you are not. It's dishonest and an abuse of language to claim you are ignoring a product you quite clearly are not. Not having a preference for something or any intent to buy it is not the same as ignoring it. You already knew that.
"Yes, I ...
@HardKnock
You're late. I already corrected "your critique of HardKnock" to "your critique of crazyCoconuts" before you posted. It's interesting you tried to jump on evidence of me mixing your handle up with someone else's. Kind of goes against the narrative you're trying to craft of being followed because someone replied to some of the multiple comments you posted on an article.
But taking you at your word that you are...
"You again? Do you wanna go get a drink or something? Hang out? I’ll be your friend."
Imagine that. Someone is replying to you after you made multiple comments in a comment section. That's wild.
And I'll be happy to explain PS doing in 2021 what Xbox had well exceeded beyond by that point, right after you reconcile your critique of crazyCoconuts with that quote of yours above.
@HardKnock
I'm no more "upset" than you are. I would think someone who pressed someone else to present facts wouldn't hide behind the 'you mad' tactic to bail when confronted with facts and asked to present them.
@HardKnockKid24
"What if MS abandoned the ABK deal and went Sonys route of buying exclusives? Would that be better?"
Yes! Neither is ideal, but those two things are leagues apart. And let's stop pretending like Xbox wasn't already doing that. They did it with Tomb Raider, and despite the legitimate uproar over them targeting a game more popular on other platforms, the game and others in the series eventually went back to other platforms ...

"@RauLeCreuset because Orchards reply addressed that? Idk just seems like a productive approach would be to make opposing points based on fact/presumed-fact and discuss? Why insult off the bat?"
1) crazyCoconut's reply came before Orchard replied to crazyCoconuts. That's kind of how chronology works. Cause and effect. Is crazyCoconuts supposed to see into the future?
2) crazyCoconuts only threw the alle...
@HardKnockKid24
Why are you putting the onus on crazyCoconuts to present facts in response to an allegation that presented none?
@Orchard
"I find it interesting to look at the market all up for everything - whether I'm interested in personally owning the product or not."
Yet your response to being told GT outsells Forza was:
"I can’t play sales numbers though, can I?
"Nor does it make any difference to me since I’m not an investor in either company.
"Visuals on the other hand, I experience as a pl...
As you've said in numerous comment sections of articles for a product you supposedly aren't interested in. Are these repeated reminders really about expressing doubt, or spreading it?
"Why would you feel sorry for a corporation that is making tens of billions of dollars every year in gaming?"
Profits vs revenue aside, point taken.
I feel more sorry for the devotees who have tirelessly worked the internet as unpaid public relations volunteers spinning narratives that have been ineffective for 20 years and counting.
"Imagine a movie that released years ago, rereleased at a premium price with only special effect improvements."

@september
Is it? Here I thought these machines had gained sentience, taken biological form, and were literally going around scalping each other. Thanks for clearing that up.
@darkrider
Nintendo has found a safe space that allows for Nintendo titles to get more favorable reviews. It does start with consistently releasing good to great games. But they have a nostalgia advantage over PS and Xbox and are masters at leveraging that nostalgia and keeping it going across generations.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be the "old Mario Kart" some younger gamer reminisces about years from now the way people today reminisce about th...
Probably because their investment and growth strategy isn't to just go after large 3rd party publishers to entice gamers to their platform by making popular multiplat franchises exclusive to it.
Obligatory 'there are no losers here' statement followed by the obligatory swipe at PS.
Now that Switch sales (which does include pure handhelds) is about to overtake PS4, it's collecting scalps? It would have had to collect a lot of other scalps along the way. I'm curious what other systems you're on record saying the Switch was going to scalp.
"The gap being closer this gen is nothing to do with supply, it’s a combination of Sony making anti consumer moves and MS being more competitive and not making huge missteps like with Xbox One."
The desperation has reached a whole other level. I know there are the obligatory narratives to force into any tangentially related discussion pertaining to PS and talking points to normalize through repeated regurgitation, but no one paying so much as slight attention is g...
@Venom
It's also part of PS+ Extra, which I think supports the real significant takeaway from this. The number of people who played a game is not a reliable enough metric on its own to gauge success and should be supplemental to sales metrics and other relevant metrics (when applicable), not a replacement.
