"Wow, reviews for this really are all over the place, from 100 all the way to 60."

A reminder that this is coming from someone who claimed to have no interest in VR.

Orchard in this comment section talking about a PSVR2 exclusive:

"This should've been (and needed to be) the killer app for PSVR2 but instead we got the weakest entry to the Horizon series thus far. "

Yes. Go to Moss: Book II on the PS store and click the ellipsis next to "Wishlist." The Moss and Moss: Book II Bundle will be one of the options to select from the pop-up. It's $10 more for the bundle than Moss: Book II alone, and there's a 10% PS Plus discount until 12:00 AM on the 22nd.

Eurogamer asked them to explain what they reported to the CMA and asked if circumstances were different than when Phil gave his earlier, contradictory, statement. Kotaku also reached out to MS for clarification on the contradiction. MS replied to both with the same non-answer.

What the update said:

"Sony got like 4 extension dates, accused of stalling, tried to squash the whole thing, judge denied it and said hand over those ...

Are you alleging that's what MrDead said?

Your questions have no relevance on the point that was made, but if "it's not that black and white," you shouldn't have tried to oversimplify what isarai said to characterize it as a win for MS.

Some regulars here have interesting hot takes that are driven by their love or hatred for a company and avoid pesky obstacles like facts, details, and substance.

Make some attempt to address that the judge agreed with Sony. Try to argue how Sony is being ridiculous for not wanting to share personnel files. Do SOMETHING to show engagement with what is actually going on. Don't pretend it doesn't exist because it's inconvenient, as if we're living in different...

I mean, Game Pass is obviously a niche failure because it has a low attach rate, with all of the platforms it's available on at low or no cost of entry. You could get a free GP trial with a box of cereal and be included in their subscriber count. Now they're admitting it cannibalizes game sales.

Isn't that how it would go?

@darkrider

It goes beyond moving the goalpost. "But it's not like developers who put their games in GP don't get reimbursed by other means" is moving the goalpost. Claiming "this should be a surprise to no one" is disingenuous and a deliberate attempt to deceive through commentary. The comment Outside_ofthe_Box risked linking to proves Orchard previously assumed a contradictory position to the one he's now claiming, and he did so to antagoniz...

You're asking if I remember a bunch of suspect people insisting that the only two home console manufacturers to win a generation in the last 37 years follow the Plan B of the only one of the big three to have never won a generation in its 21 year existence?

Yeah. Yeah, I remember that.

Getting $10 from $120 worth of games off someone who otherwise wouldn't have spent a penny is not a win when the same price is available to those who would have spent $120. 11 isarai's are needed for each person who would have bought at $120 to make the same REVENUE as what that one person would have brought. Then take into account other cannibalizing effects, like Xbox going from being paid a licensing fee by 3rd parties to not receiving a licensing fee and instead paying 3rd parties...

They are often called out for using MTs, or they are often blamed for starting the trend of MTs? Those are two different things.

What was your answer for why MS hasn't been able to create exclusive content the same as Playstation and Nintendo to support Xbox? I'm not sure how that's answered by citing SFV while conveniently neglecting that Xbox One had a Capcom exclusive at launch. Is your answer that the company spending over $70 billion on publisher acquisitions can't afford to compete for 3rd party deals?

1248d ago 18 agree1 disagreeView comment

It's not parasitic, but it's also not a forward looking approach. I don't care about getting a figurative badge of honor for spending money. I would be all for not spending money if there wasn't a catch. It's not like people are stealing I wouldn't particularly care about the ramifications of Game Pass if they didn't extend beyond Xbox. I care because there is a catch, and the ramifications do extend beyond Xbox.

Why not use a more relevant example that involves the CMA, not a regulatory body in another country with different processes and laws? Do you have an example of the outcome from the CMA blocking a deal? Perhaps involving an attempted acquisition by the same company from your example, Meta (Facebook)? Meta's attempt to acquire Giphy, maybe? How did that play out? Can you explain what significant differences may exist in the UK process, particularly the appeal process, that could result in ...

Am I missing something? You didn't say anything critical in your OP about the subject of the article raising prices. You jumped straight to blaming Sony with a sour comment drawing a false equivalency to people blaming MS for online. How are you now pointing the finger at other people ...

1248d ago 10 agree0 disagreeView comment

That narrative ignores a few truths.

Sony may be the first console manufacturer to charge $70 this gen, but there were 3rd party publishers doing it regardless. That isn't something that was going to go unnoticed by console manufacturers publishing their own games. I haven't heard any compelling reason why being the first among console manufacturers is significant in this context.

Increasing game prices are not a trend that started with Sony or t...
