Don't fall for the dressed up 'Xbox was greedy last gen but PS was greedy during the PS3 gen and now' comment. It's not the neutral comment it pretends to be.

Microsoft has $68.7 billion to spend on Activision after dropping $7.5 billion on Bethesda and is a $2 trillion dollar company but also raised their big 1st party games to $70 this gen, conveniently timed to coincide with an anticipated increase in demand and output, and raised the price on their conso...

@King_Noctis

What do MS have anything to do with this?

What did Sony have to do with Redfall being 30fps when you said the below?

"It is unacceptable at this point for this game to ship with only 30fps mode. Delay the game if needed, 30fps in FPS is bad especially for people who prone to motion sickness like me.

"However, what I find funny is people like you would defend Sony to infinity and beyond had the...

"'They need to learn how to advertise games. That's one thing Sony does way better is advertise all their games and their console.'

"I agree. Sony not only advertise its games better but also do it in a very transparent way. By watching a trailer you´ll know what you see is running on actual PS5 hardware, be that in-engine cinematic, pre-alpha build or gameplay f...

Nah. That's someone logged into 40 alts with 40 tabs pulled up and ready to go! Respect their dedication. 😂

"Has someone figured out how to block downvote or do they log in with multiple accounts?"

I'm going to refer to the qualifications for membership Sully stated in pointing out that I think it's someone logging in with multiple alts, and I find it all the more hilarious.

"In a surprise plot twist, Microsoft's Activision-Blizzard acquisition has been BLOCKED by the UK's CMA regulatory authority."

Is it really a surprise plot twist when the CMA showed everyone a rough draft for the ending months ago?

IGN and others were surprised because they bought into and amplified PR over engaging with the substance of the challenges to the deal laid out by the CMA in the preliminary report. That's not a plot twis...

Or makes comments justifying the CMA's decision about how Xbox doesn't consider Sony and Nintendo real competition because the future is cloud gaming, and they could try to compete with Xbox for that market, but they aren't positioned to do so, and they could try to r...

Possibly the most underrated comment on the internet:

Same here. The numbers I keep seeing reported don't reflect preference.

1169d ago 5 agree1 disagreeView comment

We should also recognize that these numbers are not an accurate gauge of the preference for digital over physical.

I get the sense that what you mean when you say you went digital and never looked back is that you stopped buying physical entirely or for the most part. If just looking at my digital library versus my physical, it can be said that I have gone digital too. However, I prefer physical and would have a big problem with physical going away. I buy a lot of smaller ...

I was wondering if anyone would inadvertently implicate themself by trying to defend or downplay the obvious manipulation.

"Nationalism is the symptom. Waving flags and yelling: 'you insulted my country' is where nationalism takes root, because people are dumb."

How do you get from people taking offense because they belong to a group that was singled out for insult to said people becoming nationalists without engaging in slippery slope fallacy?

If the CMA didn't do it's job, it's because Phil "Says" Spencer gave them everything they needed to take him at his word, call it a day, and hit the golf course:

"For gaming veteran Microsoft, the big change this year is in who it considers its big competitors.

"In the fall, Microsoft will square off once again with traditional rival Sony as each introduces new game consoles, the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5.

It goes beyond insulting a government when you start mocking an economic downturn the people of that nation have to suffer through while making veiled threats that affect those same people, including veiled threats to make that economic situation worse.

That's not nationalism.

Throw in their assumption that there would be no ramifications outside of the UK if they so brazenly flouted one of their home country's closest allies.

Everyone trying to challenge the CMA's decision with that patronizing crap needs to be confronted with the quotes Phil Spencer gave in that interview. They are the perfect justification for the CMA's decision.

1170d ago 6 agree50 disagreeView comment

I don't get it. Even the CMA is slanted toward allowing the richest kid on the block to buy its way out of failure by gobbling up huge chunks of the industry. The CMA reversed its objections to MS gobbling up huge chunks of the console market after Xbox made a rebuttal that specifically addressed the CMA's argument. That's what got them the most movement. The problem is MS wouldn't, or couldn't, do that for the other arguments the CMA gave months ago for why they would den...

"Let's not pretend that government agencies are any less scummy."

We're specifically talking about regulatory agencies here. If regulatory agencies are equally scummy, it's because they are too permissive of deals like the one Microsoft is throwing an international tantrum over. They ultimately denied the deal, but were more willing to entertain it than I would have been.

I don't think Sony's positi...

I get it. You don't have to be an apologist for your nation and go along with the program to take offense when someone throws those types of shots. I'm not assuming your stance Brexit, but as an example, you don't have to have supported Brexit to be offended when an executive for some trillion dollar multinational corporation that didn't get its way makes light of your nation entering a recession, quips about how you aren't as cool as you were when you were part of the EU,...
