"Bizarre statement."
"The interviewer brains are on Patrón."
What makes you say that?
The point of that is to reduce the importance of whether MS would have a motive to intentionally sabotage Call of Duty on PS. This argument removes intent from the equation to say that a post merger Call of Duty would naturally have to be lesser than it would be if Activision were not owned by a rival.
That PS would not disclose to Activision is not news, despite the reactions of some here. It's the context that is the news. It was asked during a deposition for the FTC trial. The point being made through the line of questioning is that, absent any ill intent, PS would inherently receive an inferior version of Call of Duty post merger for future consoles because it wouldn't be practical to share details of future consoles with their rival. Without access to that knowledge, Activision...
That is a nice advantage. Have fun!
"When the merger news first popped when would've thought the Cloud would be the reason for it being held up and potentially not go through?"
Regulators?
This wasn't some switch-up. It was in the CMA's provisional findings.

What's ironic is MS and their defenders trying to juggle this argument with claims they're making about the VR market being too small for them to get into. Matt Booty went from trying to downplay VR as too small a market to awkwardly having to downplay the cloud market they've been hyping for years, because the regulatory agencies may be watching.

"So, Kionic, which is it, is cloud gaming not big enough to be a consideration for anti-competitive behavior or isn't it?"
It's whatever the rotating cast of Xbox champions need it to be at the moment they're making their argument. Whatever needs to be ignored will be.
MS has more battles ahead with the CMA and the FTC. We'll be hearing again how the CMA is so awful and unfair for blocking the deal over a smaller market than VR....
"This is what drives me crazy about PlayStation reviews…. The hyperbole…."
You must have found that "hyperbole" had substance. You have been dumping on PSVR2 since before release and bought one anyway.
You're making some incorrect assumptions. Here's the FTC complaint. That should clear things up.

"People just seem to rave about this game. I'll get it lol"
For good reason.
Rhythm games are just better in VR. It's one of those genres like racers where it's hard to go back to playing flat screen. I have had my eyes on Theatrhythm Final Bar Line (the Final Fantasy tunes rhythm game), but I haven't bought it yet because I keep thinking how much better it would be in VR. VR has revived the genre. The Guitar Heros and DJ Heros ...
@SteakDeck
Dedicated VR studios (which I'm assuming to mean lead development studios that work exclusively on VR) aren't needed with PSVR2 tech. The graphical leap from PSVR allows for more quality hybrid experiences. Hybrids wouldn't be reliant on solely PSVR2 owners for sales. I do think it would be good to have some of the VR experienced acquisitions act as a support team to focus on the VR implementation of hybrid games, which may be something they're al...
Absolutely.
"Beat Saber, one of the best-selling VR games of all time, is now available on PlayStation VR2."
It's okay. It's up now.
Silly me. I usually interpret "now" to mean it's on the store now and not still hidden away to protect the surprise.
@ElfHead
And it's dead and contributed to a legacy that has people writing articles 10 years after the fact about how horrible the Xbox One launch was. Start with learning the difference between a fad and healthy growth.
"I can't ever go back playing racers after playing Gt7 on psvr2. Racing games are best played in vr."
Racers like GT are going to be a problem for me if future iterations don't support VR. It won't be the same.
You would think they would learn by now to at least shut up about sales.
"Now Sony releases their headset, it has a 2% adoption rate and it’s heralded as a success story. I struggle to see how developers are going to want to pump huge budgets into AAA experiences for 2% of a potential audience. Not a good ROI."
Since we're playing attach rate games, what's the attach rate of Game Pass for the audience it's available to? You know, the billions they gutted their primary business model to go after. Tell me how that compares to...
For starters, where are all the people who like to complain about PS fans on N4G when Xbox gets rightfully criticized or a less than flattering story about Xbox gets approved? This isn't an outlier. Z2g regularly posts negative spin in PSVR2 articles.
With that out of the way, let's dive in.
"Ummm… just gonna call a spade a spade here and yes I am one of those ppl that bought and own a psvr2."
That you supposedly did...
@KingKionic
The "lawyer."
This was a deposition.
The lawyer asked a question that was in no way rhetorical. The point was to get Jim Ryan's answer for the record. They are making the case that there would not need to be an intention to sabotage CoD on PS for next-gen PS consoles to get an inferior product, than they would have sans merger, because Activision being acquired by a rival would practically prohibit PS from sh...
