For me, MGSV is where Metal Gear ends.
The main argument people keep bringing up is how it's marketed at people who want to game on PC but don't know how to build a gaming PC but, like you said, they've been selling pre-built gaming PCs forever.
The post-credits call should be Big Boss briefing Solid Snake on the Outer Heaven infiltration. I think that'd be a good use of Hayter's voice even if it's just a cameo.
If we haven't been lied to about the year, it's about 10 years before Outer Heaven. I suppose it's not impossible but with what we've been given it's unlikely.
Kojima isn't too big on time jumps in the same game either. MGS2's Tanker-Plant gap (2 years) being the biggest in all of his games, I believe.
@Joe913
You mean how Big Boss goes back to the Patriots and re-forms Foxhound? That's explained in MGS4.
Edit: Well I suppose they don't exactly explain how Big Boss and the Patriots got back on "friendly terms."
IV, VIII, XIV, Xenogears
He also said that about 2 and 3. The thing is, Kojima needs to believe it's his last one so that he gives it his all and "ends it" with a huge bang. That's just how he works.
It's my favorite series but if it's the last one so be it. If not, I'll be happy all the same.
@one2thr
FoxDie is a virus though. It's not nanomachines. Also, they can't clone him because of the terminator gene.
I know like two guys from my class who are going to be working as interns there. I thought they'd be doing boring mobile games or something along those lines but I guess I was wrong. I'm starting to envy them now xD
I'll take that over Wasteland 2 any day of the week. It's all a matter of taste.
@breakpad
Solid Snake was featured in Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2 : Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid 1 and Metal Gear Solid 2. All of which are not Playstation exclusive. Metal Gear Solid 4 is the only exception.
Actually, Big Boss just as much a Playstation exclusive character since they never ported Portable Ops (pun not intend I swear) to another console.
But then I'm not sure what would be the point of making characters exclusive to platfor...
Yeah it's pretty good. I say that and I'm not a big fan of MMOs.
They just gave me a reason not to try the demo. It's a strange decision on their part. I was kind of on the fence about the game. It seems they're trying hard to convince me not to get it. I'll probabaly wait for the reviews after it releases then.
This is EXACTLY like them. They're so cheap it defies the laws of logic. Not saying their games are bad but IMO they always have to overcharge.
I have the original on PS1 and this port on Steam. Why should I xD
Good luck with that xD
If you like FFVII so much just play it. If they remade it they'd find a way to screw it up. Happened wih MGS1. It might lose some of what made it great in the first place.
@ShinMaster
Also I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the reveal was pre-rendered anyways. Since when do we compare pre-rendered with real-time rendering.
Edit: nvm they said it was realtime. This kind of thing is to be expected though.
I agree about the patches though games took much longer to release because of it. They had to make sure it was at an acceptable level of bugs. Today, the acceptable level of bugs is >9000.
Big companies won't even patch half of it by the time they end support for a game.
That makes Konami kind of sound like the Patriots XD
