Some level of progression would indeed be nice. Earning new weapons and what have you, but I agree. Keeping it simple is the best way to go.
By my understanding the policy is actually gone (or going) and developers can self-publish on Xbox One (or will be able to), but there is some rocky history with Microsoft and Oddworld Inhabitants/Just Add Water because of how poorly Stranger's Wrath was handled on Xbox.
Microsoft and Sony will be fine, but I have to admit I'm concerned for Nintendo as well. They need some heavy hits this year. :/
Big stuff. Can't wait to play 'em! :)
I'm pretty sure Oddworld is unconfirmed for Xbox One because of the rocky history between the series creator and Microsoft.
Happy Easter indeed! :D
Love these contests. Thanks to Cat and the rest of the N4G crew! :D
I think it just needs to go back to basics and take an element of control from the player and make the games feel more tight to create more tension. Dark environments and of course some clever sound work can also make a scary ambiance to keep players on their toes.
The problem is the old games enjoyed tripping fans out but the newer games felt more like B material. Kind of like how the Friday the 13th series went on for so long that they started being less scary and more comedic.
Shattered Memories wasn't a bad game, but I can definitely see why fans would dislike it.
Or at least a talented team with a genuine interest in making faithful followups to the original games.
It's satire folks, and I think it's just poking fun at how people focus on sales numbers so much.
Technically it says satire, so. :P
Wow dude... just wow. XD
Apparently people disagree with a fact. XD
A 2.5D Metroid game in the style of Super may just be what the doctor ordered for Retro! I think fans would love an HD Metroid with 2D controls and NOT from the makers of Other M.
With a very long story mode and online multiplayer! :D
"Hopefully not, I think fans have been pretty vocal about wanting Retro to be making a Metroid game instead."
While it is true that fans want a new Retro developed Metroid, I think they've been just as loud about Nintendo stepping out of their comfort zone and into new territories. A Retro Studios Zelda game is a perfect new venue for them to try. Retro knows how to try new ideas while keeping the content faithful to what the fans love. No gun-toting Links or ha...
They said that they were interested in experimenting with first person. There is a little of that in Zelda Wind Waker HD where you have the option to use the bow and arrows like an FPS.
Haha, dousing the flames of hate with drool of excitement. Perfect! XDDD
