The scale and quality of titles on the iphone is nowhere near that of the psp.
Do they (apple) have an audience? - yes
Does that audience overlap with that of sony? - no

i think the reason the WII bothers most gamers is that we see potential for the industry taking the same direction as mainstream cinema years ago. IE produce crap that panders to the masses
But like that industry, quality will always be produced...just in lower quantities.
What makes it interesting to me is that the movie + TV industries have improved to compete with gaming + has been doing a lot better because of it.
i think he means that there are few games that will take advantage of the new features added & hence why pay extra for it?

a few years ago i could not afford to buy new games. It was used or nothing. If nothing was the only choice i would not be a gamer today paying $60 a pop. i would have occupied my time some other way. if not for used games the audience would shrink. i have played out a lot of games in a single day. I couldn't pay $60 for that then.
As far as my indifference towards nintendo...i have legitimate reasons(see other posts)

Nintendo has been convicted of price fixing in the EU or somewhere in europe. I remember looking at gamecube game prices at the end of the cycle. It was just insane.

Without piracy on the PS3 there is no way in hell it will ever sell as much as the ps2 or even the other consoles in the current generation.
At some point, sony will be making a profit on this console + will "allow" piracy.If someone cannot afford a $400 console then they are going to have a hard time buying $60 games.
As long as the ps3 makes a profit its all good (and it will)

nintendo has never had a history of having the best technology. Look at how long it took the gameboy to surpass the gamegear. They compete with software that is easily approachable. And they always aim to profit from day 1.
