They aren't just buying it - they're fighting/bragging over who gets to be ripped-off - Exclusive DLC!!

Now that's genius marketing.

Indeed - Play TV would really be yet another welcome addition.

I was actually referring to how the media has changed its tune recently pertaining to the PS3 - But you also have a good point - my PS3 has replaced so many devices.

"I don't want my console to do anything other than play games on" - I used to say the same exact thing - I was so young and foolish back then

"making you want to rip every other appliance out from under your telly"

My,My - How times have changed

Even the minis on PSN are far cheaper than the ipod versions.

Sony needs to re-consider handheld game pricing if this keeps up - though psp pricing has improved since launch already.

Ipod version wins based on the price then.

This is how digital distribution should work.

Hardware price a little high - but software cheap

I used to think stories weren't necessary - That they just got in the way.

Then i played Mass Effect and Bioshock.
I'm sure that there were great stories before these but these just blew me away in terms of presentation. It was one of the few times where removal of the story would have greatly affected my enjoyment. (Sly cooper series also comes to mind)

Storytelling can seem unnecessary if it isn't executed well.
No Story is better than a crappy one .

Thanks - i think its an axis created by scorpio and libra or aquarius - cant remember which.

Apparently it lines up with the axes of the earth at this date.

It was alluded to by Nostradamus also - i didn't want to get into all that :)

@Mahr

Well i could be wrong - But i'm comforted by the fact that if i am - i won't be held accountable - Kinda like Patcher :)

The Mayans and many early cultures view time as cyclic - where patterns repeat over each cycle.
Hence they described one cycle that ended in 2012 and saw no need to go further.

Modern cultures view time as linear and hence many think that if they did not go beyond 2012 - then that is when the world ends.

They are mistaken

@fallingdove

Don't be too hard on nintendo.
Their fanbase declined steadily since the NES - research the numbers.

They needed a new audience.

I agree that it would be nice if they could use their new fortunes to reward their stalwarts with a few more games each year though.

Damn - look out for news of my wallet in the obituaries

These guys and bioware are leaders in console videogame storytelling - cant wait to see the latest efforts.

its safer to predict failure.

A boss i had once told me the easiest way to make a career was to criticize the work of others. - i was making fun of a mistake a colleague had made.

PS3 didn't fail - so now they need something new to criticize
