The difference between your opinions is down to how you played the game. If you played as a melee character you'd have bad combat experiences but as a range character the combat was pretty good.
I agree. That's pretty much the only game that does first person melee combat well.
I can only speak from my experience but I can't see you being able to have the same kind of access to your spells that you'd have on a keyboard.
You can certainly give players the ability to assign spells to buttons and to set it up so you can swap between sets of spells but you're not going to be able to react quite in the same way as on PC. This could be just fine though as long as it doesn't feel gimped in any way.
I wouldn't mind tryin...
WoW's gameplay would need to be changed for it to work on a console largely due to having fewer buttons.
With the number of different spells each class has I can't imagine being able to play the game on a console without mouse and keyboard support.
If you're worried about the learning curve maybe you should start with League of Legends as it's easier to learn to play and once you're comfortable you can move onto the more difficult DOTA2.
There was a really nice group set up for people who just wanted to play and have fun on one of the EU servers. I'm guessing there are similar groups of people who play DOTA2 together without the worry of pissing off others when they do something wrong.
I think your age may be the reason for that lol. You'd have been just a little kid when Thief originally debuted.
The water arrows have been in Thief for a long time as well as moss arrows that grow moss on the ground so you can walk while making less noise.
I think first person is perfect for a Thief game as it adds so much to the tension when sneaking around and not knowing what's around the corner.
I thought the comment was 'meh' until I got to the power brick :)
He's right. Bubbles were reset for E3.
True what you say about poly counts. However, higher numbers of polys do require a significant amount of processing power. While it may not give massive improvements in the look of the car it does show that with those visuals the console is quite capable.
They're trying to sell a product so they'll show the game running on a PC to make the game look awesome. This will also give people the impression that the console is very capable if it's to run a game like this.
They want to show their game looking it's best so it makes sense to have some crazy hardware to ensure there are no hiccups as they're running a game that is still being worked on.
I like what they're trying to do with the Xbox One as a media hub after-all the PS3 was also being touted as an all-in-one media device. I think it has a lot of potential as a product but their policies are screwing with gamers and that's not cool.
I still think the average consumer will really buy into MS's marketing so it'll still do well.
I'll be downloading it regardless. If I like it enough I might just buy it for the extra content.
I like this controller. I think I'm going to get one when it's out but I have a feeling it'll be pretty pricey so I might have to wait. Would love to try one out.
Being smaller might be a bit of an issue for some. I know the DS3 got some stick for being a bit small. I don't mind really as my hands aren't that big.
Didn't realise games would now be £50. It's a good thing you get Drive Club with PS+ then.
Anyone know if game prices are actually going up next gen? I thought they were staying the same.
I agree. Online play should be free regardless so we should really make a fuss about it on twitter.
However, I think the fact that Sony have saved our freedom on the PS4 is making that particular pill much easier to swallow for a lot of people.
Yes I'm not happy about having to pay to play online. I mentioned to someone the other day how it was a big reason for me not getting a 360 this gen.
I do want a console to go with my PC next gen so I'm having to weigh the pros and cons of both PS4 and XO. I think even with the pay wall to online access on PS4 it's still the better option for me considering all the pros PS4 and PS+ have over MS's offerings.
Also, I already saved enough to spen...
Is buying with real money the only way to get characters? It would be really shitty if it is.
F2P games need to use a proper F2P model like League of Legends where points you earn can be saved up to purchase new characters and buying with real money is just an extra option. The only thing LoL requires real money for is cosmetic changes to characters.
That's what was stated at the MS event.
Standard FPS mechanics were toned down with Halo to make it more friendly to play on a console. Those giant circle crosshairs weren't seen previously as far as I can remember.
Making games easier makes them more appealing to the masses which helps them sell more. This increase in sales leads to more dumbing down to get as many people buying as possible because publishers want more money.
When someone does try and change things a little like Killzone 2s sl...
