Can't blame Sony really. We run conferences on a regular basis where I work and often venues have their own A/V people. Sometimes they're good and sometimes they're really bad.
AC3 isn't all that but good for those who haven't played it yet. Looking forward to the Jack and Daxter trilogy though as I haven't played any of them before.
True but aren't most F2P games largely online games? Even single player F2P would require an online connection for any micro-transactions to work.
Just wondering as to how it will work out for them.
This gen pretty much brought us paid DLC. Next gen, micro-transactions.
edit: whoops, meant to reply to mii-gamer.
Is that true or is it just some DLC that will be free?
If indeed it is all free then that will greatly influence my purchasing decisions when I get my PS4.
Yeh I have the same feeling about this game. It doesn't look like it'll stay subscription based for very long.
I think the game looks somewhat mediocre to be honest. I'm finding it difficult to like it.
I'll keep an eye on it though to see how it develops and probably try it if it goes F2P.
That's a shame. Currently you can get a Vita, mega pack and 8GB cards for £170. Was hoping this would drop too.
I'm tempted to get one at that price anyway but I think I'll wait to see what offers pop up during Christmas.
I agree that they have the right to promote themselves though I don't think they were trying take a jab at MS for the sake of it.
Sony are in the process of promoting their new console and by making this particular statement, it's guarenteed that most publications will be writing about it. This in turn makes Sony's consistency more widely known to the general public and will improve consumers perception of the them and their new console.
There'...
Optional subscription fee will likely mean perks for those who subscribe which I'm not keen on. Either go for a full subscription model or a full B2P model.
I don't mind subscriptions for MMOs as long as it's worth it but I do prefer B2P games like Guild Wars 2.
edit: I've personally not seen anything about this game that makes me think it'll be worth subscribing to for more than a month.
I agree. I was kind of expecting a $10 - $20 reduction but to get it for that low is pretty surprising.
Makes sense. No point buying on PS3 if most of the people you play with are on a 360. Let the fanboys get angry all they want.
That's what I liked about all the time they dedicated to indie games. They gave them the spotlight and a lot of media coverage which they wouldn't have had otherwise. This will likely help their sales numbers as more gamers will be aware of the games coming out.
Normally I'd agree but these are indie games. Hype can fade pretty quick sometimes so long timed exclusives can work against the indie devs.
A month doesn't really matter to me. It's just a way for Sony to build a little extra hype for it's console just as MS would.
Unfortunately true for many but not all.
DOTA2, LoL and Team Fortress are free to play and in no way allow you to be better by buying something. Everything you purchase is purely cosmetic and that's how it should be.
I don't like pay to win either but it's not fair to dump all F2P games in the same boat.
Nice post. I like the idea of having stacked clicks and combos. The issue I see with combos getting more powerful with length is that it can become quite overpowered especially if you can fit stuns and such in there.
Enemies would probably need some way of breaking your combo to keep the gameplay from getting boring since you'd probably be able to macro the combo and just hit one key to take down a horde.
Sony fans will obviously talk about how it's the money that has made Microsoft do another 180 but to be honest it's hard to think otherwise.
Any way you look at it both Sony and Microsoft need the money from sales and Microsoft has shown itself to be the kind of company that will reverse it's policies when it's profits are threatened.
Personally I'm glad they're doing this. It means I'll actually end up getting both consoles next g...
I still think Unreal Tournament has some of the best guns. I love how each weapon has at least one alt fire. Some weapons even allow you to combine weapon-fire for for more ways to hit people.
It's not just pirated games. You can go into a shop and buy discs crammed with viruses and trojans as well.
How many times have I saved America from some sort of terrorist threat. About time I got a medal don't you think?
I want my full boxed CnC games.
