Pretty good show overall. Lots of games just like they said there would be.
Anyone notice a Windows pop-up notification sound during one of the gameplay segments towards the end of the show? I can't remember what game it was but I know it wasn't my machine that made that sound.
Trailer's cool but isn't this basically what they showed in a trailer for a previous Halo game? I seem to be getting a rather strong sense of deja vu.
Previous redesign looked better in my opinion. I don't see why they even bothered to be honest. I don't see MS supporting it for much longer.
I don't think it really matters about how ridiculous it might sound. When it comes to spying anything goes.
I'd like to be able to do that but I'm have to be at a conference on Wednesday morning for 08:30.
Bah, The one I want to watch is at 2am.
Still, I get to watch MS's show which should be interesting.
Take note, clicking the link well send you back in time 15 years :)
Yeh that's what I think too. Spend all that money on creating exclusives just to get people buying and then after a couple of years it'll be like the 360 is now. No great new exclusives and a massive focus on people who aren't core gamers.
Still, I wouldn't make a decision to absolutely boycott a system until I was completely sure and with E3 so close I'd certainly wait to see what they had to say.
Pretty drastic. Should've waited for MS's E3 show first.
@ abzdine, you can say that but with MS's marketing budget and the fact that the system is still quite attractive to the average consumer I reckon it will still sell well.
Normally I'd just think this reputation management thing is a bit far fetched but a little google search certainly gives interesting results.
e.g. a reputation management service turns out to be quite real ( http://www.veribo.com/)
Some text from the site:
'Tailor-made services that push down negative results and replace them with positive ones.
An allocated project manager that wor...
'genuine added bonus content/gameplay/whatever for "fans" who bought it' should be for anyone who bought it regardless of it being brand new or second hand.
If that's true then I can understand why some people at Arkane apparently aren't keen on working on it. They probably feel bad about taking a taking that someone else has put so much effort into and completed only to have it given to another studio.
Yep. I bought a 360 controller back in 2005 and it still works fine. I could continue using it for years but I quite like this new controller so I think I'll be buying one.
This I agree with. Unfortunately MS have almost completely turned me off getting an XOne. I don't want to have to put up with MS's nonsense on the new console.
I might be able to stomach having to pay to play online so if they change their stance on the used games I think I'll buy it.
I'm one of those who normally doesn't use cockpit view.
I agree that it adds a whole new dimension to the experience but because I'm generally not very good using that view I don't use it.
It's a shame they haven't included it though.
@Snookies
I agree. That particular show was just wrong for a pre-E3 show especially considering the Xbox brand was launched and marketed originally as being all about the games.
I don't mind them changing the brand to be all-encompassing for digital entertainment but the show felt like it would have been better as something to do at CES not pre-E3.
I kind of had a feeling this might happen.
Well, not the Blockbuster pre-order record but the average consumer being foolish enough to not give it much thought.
Even if publishers were to design their games to require an online unlock it would mean people who simply don't have an internet connection would not be able to play them at all.
It might be difficult for some to believe but there are still people out there without any internet connection at home.
You just reminded me of Snake's arse in MGS4. Thanks for that.
