"Hell, Valve still use the Source engine, why doesn't anyone cry about that? "
Search at places other than N4G, and you'll see quite a bit complain about the vanilla portion of the engine. Hell with their engine, they have a variety, and actually change up the way how the engine is used, and CONSTANTLY tweak it/alter it.
And yes WoW has been called out on it's graphical look also.
CS was all about BALANCED GAMEPLAY, and ...
Honestly I think that since video games are making more of an impact now on the entertainment series than movies, books, and music others try to hold it under scrutiny because of the ease of ability and access to this media.
Quite frankly though, the scene doesn't even come close to some of the other stuff you see in games. You even see far worse stuff on the news.
I'm more surprised that there was a damage icon for the father holding the camera. :p
43 million people in the world smoke, doesn't mean it's good for ya.
My point is people need to point out the qualities of the game, not using numbers as a crutch.
@aarix
It's relevant, because I'm telling him that review scores doesn't mean much in today's time.
There's been way too many games coming out with near perfect scores/higher scores that have had insane glitches and issues on hand.
And Ocarina of Time scored higher than those 2 games. Says it all.
"@Yeah...because BF3 was SOOOOOO much more different than the other BF games. lmao"
You're just poking the bee's nest aren't you?
There's many differences. Hell look at Bad Company vs BF series.
How is it superficial, the name even gives it away:
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
@Bimkoblerutso
What you just used as your example was lore and concept, not story.
The only 'change' they did to the story was put a sci-fi spin on top of it, and not only that, but the ending killed what was potential in the game itself.
@rdgneoz I'm just stating they don't deserve 100% credit on that area.
On a side note, it's also apparent that someone on N4G is just account vote duping, hence the mass ...
Well Ubisoft might :p
@retrofly
Honestly K/D doesn't mean jack in BF3, hence they reward you more for working as a team and assisting your allies.
Hell I got MVP on the winning team one point in time with a 4-6 score, but my score was in the 5k. I went around healing and reviving people along with assisting in suppression fire.
@kennyboy
One example would be the perk listing that was released out for MW3. It has many cheap stuff all over again that they said they were going to get rid of.
@wlchrbandit
It's rare to see someone here actually explain out what they felt. :p
"NT did have a good story for Enslaved"
It wasn't original. It was taken from Journey to the West.
"Most PC gamers are ignorant to the fact that the PC market is not financially good for games"
Must have missed the memo, cause Valve is raking in the billions.
Except this isn't JUST maps, coupled with the fact that you get it for FREE just by buying the game around launch date.
When has a CoD game/Activision done that for anyone?
Given with the way how DICE has done DLC in the past (ala Vietnam), people have a safe feeling that it'll be worthwhile, and not a cash-off.
And I like how people even forgot that Vietnam was $15 to begin with, but look at the massive amount of content they gave. ...
"Everyone hated them for it, but look past it here? Strange."
Did Activision ever once give any of the maps away for free for just purchasing the game?
"It should have been included in the retail game. The map number for the game right now is painfully low"
If you bought a LE version, it basically is.
"I sense exclusive deal for next battlefield on xbox :D"
*PC Oriented multiplatform game being exclusive on ONE console*
*facepalm*
@C_Menz
What kind of madness are you saying man!? Do you expect people to use logic and/or read articles?!
This is N4G, the place of people knee-jerking by just the title alone instead of actually reading stuff.
"Cod did something that all those mentioned games couldn't do"
You mean made each year like sports games, and not actually focusing on balancing mechanics?
There's a reason why CS is regarded as a top competitive game for at least 10+ years, i.e balance.
Also Elite isn't anything new. It's called stat tracking which has been around for years. They just made it more apparent to the public.
Also to rel...
