WoW, Allods Online, Neverwinter Nights, Hunted, and many other games.
"You can also wait for 10 years and play all PS3 and Xbox 360 games on PC via emulation. That doesn't make it the viable option though does it?"
If people would think for a moment instead of knee-jerking with the disagrees, you'd realize what I relate to was playing your games on console, and USING THAT PROGRAM for any reason.
And using that program, or others like ventrilo, IS a viable option.
Only here where you present something in a semi-logical way, and people still disagree just because.
"Yeah, that place is the reason why your games are ghost towns online and you got no full servers anymore."
Ghost towns huh? Man..these many people I play TF2 on daily is all part of my imagination. Or the people I play Forza 4 with, or MvC3, or MGO, or BF3, or many other MP games.
You know what I find funny, on this site alone, it's both of these sides that play the "victim" game.
People that complain about CoD, and t...
The main stuff from what I seen from earlier comments:
It wasn't about Sony hate. It was about a bunch of reasons:
-This kind of breach was first done in the gaming industry, so they were already under a magnifying glass
-The way how they had the info stored was just amateur level in terms of security.
-70 million people potentially affected is no laughing matter, and of course with that huge of a number you bet your ass ...
@S_C
I did, and it's not JUST them doing that if you look around the internet.
"Cross game chat, party, automatic achievement syncing and many other features say hi."
You can use Skype, and it is free, so dunno why anyone needs to pay money for those features on console. You can use it on a simple computer or even on smartphones. :p
That's in relation to the cross chat and party.
I don't think 1 nice thing negates out what they've done in the past.
Still it's a very nice donation.
How do you guys know it's JUST BF people? For all anyone knows it could be a random bunch of people thinking it's funny to troll a game.
True. Given with the way how Valve is though, I don't have worries, as they hold customer support and value over most other companies, so it's safe as like you said too.
"Yup. Console games don't get hacked.
One of the main reason is that they can ban your console from online play."
Both of those statements are untrue.
-People have hacked on consoles. You forgot CoD4's issue at hand.
-On the hacking community side, they're able to change the identity of their system, so they would only be banned for a short time.
@Pandamobile
Ignore the naysayers on your comment, considering that it's a complex encryption.
AES256.
Hell you could probably give them the encryption, and they would never crack it.
To put this in perspective, the possible combinations would be 2^256-ish style.
So in other words, a person would be dead before you even get about 1/2 way through it all for one person.
Safe to say people have nothing to really worry about.
"Smoking is a horrible example that has a nice side-effect called addiction. The vast majority aren't addicted to CoD... at least in the negative sense. "
You need to see the way how these people act at the midnights, or the various situations of people stealing the game, like the truck in EU that had a few thousand stolen.
Also, it seems like both you and mendicant missed the point that I said a vast chunk of these people go off on the trend mi...
Just a few things from here, yes there not the best of examples, but the point I'm getting across is that a nice chunk of people get these types of games, cause of a "trend" situation.
Just recently one form of advertisement that just showed up was for the new Jeep Wrangler, but they smacked MW3 all over the place.
The other thing, is that I already explained what the problem CAN be:
"One other reason why people have this ...
"And these people have decided with their wallets and their time what it is they want to buy/play. It isn't that they don't "know any better" or any crap like that, they like what thy like so lay off of them already. "
Again, I'm going to using the smoking example. People still use that stuff, but cancer issues are a heavy problem within that, and yet people still decide with their wallets.
Or the whole oil industry situation. ...
"Therefore, these people are merely hating on success. People argue that this game is ruining the gaming industry. As if this series is the first to be this popular. It has always been this way. Some games sell very well and attract audiences who aren't regular game players. Mario is an example and the Super Mario series has been doing this for decades, yet why do these people think that the Modern Warfare series is the one destroying the industry? Modern Warfare hasn't prevented...
"I'm so tired of the sales don't equal quality argument - it's an elitist perspective taken solely by those who support products that aren't widely popular. "
Smoking...millions do it. Harmful to your health.
Drinking health drinks, not as much as smoking, way more healthy.
Games were about being games, not being the pop culture of newer people coming into gaming.
"Does it annoy you that other people enjoy a game that you don't?"
When it affects you over the long term future of gaming.....YES, considering they don't see the cons of what this affects.
Again I would go back with the concept of smoking. People say if you don't like smoking, don't do it. Second hand smoke hurts you just as bad in the long run.
"What about how Ninja was redundant when the game launched because there were hardly any footstep sounds? And then a few weeks later they patched it to make it sound like a stampede? "
I dunno why I laughed at that image.
