The simple answer is NO
The olympics are about sport and being the best condition to beat competitors.
Gaming is not the same thing, if it was then games like chess and bridge would be considered an olympic sport
@Mezzo..
There are definitely not quite up to scratch, but I personally like windows 8 so far.
I do hope it gets much better too
academy was a little lack luster after jedi outcast. but its good the story sort of continued, I have been waiting for a sequel for years. I really dont understand why they cancelled so many projects.
Yea, near perfect.
Galaxies should be removed and tie fighter should be somewhere in the top 3.
Galaxies IMO should not be on that list, at first it was almost impossible to level a character up to max, they fixed that and made it too easy. I tried the game for a couple of weeks and got bored.
KOTOR kept me glued to my computer screen, as did the jedi knight series. Multiplayer of the Jedi outcast was amazing too, Its such a shame they dont/havent followed up Kotor and...
@Nukeitall
I said kinect is currently not advanced enough to have the accuracy required.
Its a waste to invest in kinect 1 now, if kinect 2 is out fairly soon.
Read what I write plz.
Both Sony and MS wanted to get on the motion controller bandwagon.
I think both were too late to the party, nintendo dominated.
Im going to get a million disagrees but how is move different to the Wii-motes?
Yes it might be more accurate but other than that, theres nothing else.
Kinect - I can see it might have potential in the future but as it stands it just is not advanced enough.
The worst thing is MS are planning a kinect 2 which I assume will be re...
I swear he could have used those homeplug things?
I use them, they network to the router via the electrical power outlets in a home.
Simple, no drilling required
@BattleAxe
This whole argument of devs not unlocking the 'full potential' of the cell processor is mute now.
No dev will never unlock it fully because of other hardware restrictions, like the RAM and graphics cards.
The RROD was bad, but at the same time MS did replace consoles free of charge which did include P&P.
Since then the RROD noise has pretty much died down.
The big issue was creating divisions between SKU's, how can MS have released the 'arcade' version of the fat and slim Xbox without a hard drive?
This just forced game devs to continue using DVD discs for content like the GTA IV addons.
The price of addon hard drives was insane.
...
you mean quite not quiet
LOL
@appleagelephant
MS have posted an 'expected' loss because they acquired a online advertising agency 5 years ago for around 6Bn$. They have shut that operation down which put them at a loss.
If you look at sales of windows O.S they are steady and continue to help MS.
The shares havent taken a hit either
Theres a few issues with this. ITs all been converted to dollars which is fine to determine the value but currency makes a difference.
Its the same with clothes, e.g a hollister hoody in the U.S is around $40-$60, in the UK its £40-£60 depending on the hoody etc.
The montary value is higher in the UK, but that is due to currency.
Also new console games cost $60 in the US, and a new game in the UK costs roughly £35-$40, so taking into account of currency ...
Q: Why you shouldnt pay for this on console,
A: Its free on other platforms.
Rovio is just milking the cow, Im going to get ahead of this and not purchase something that is free (On android at least).
@Strongman.
Ms is only in its 2nd development cycle for games consoles. The 2nd piece of hardware released, look at its competitors who have been in the market for a significantly longer time.
Yes this gen the Wii won, but MS has done pretty well so far. The xbox 360 has a decent install and attachment base so do you think MS care?
I doubt it, they are well positioned in the market and are turning it into a real battle.
Look at the partnerships that ha...
I dont understand how the article assumes this is a resurgence of PC gaming?
Surely this is a spike in the market, currently there are not many new releases. This part of the year is the 'stale' part of the year, where there are no games being released.
Fair enough about the old hardware comment, I do agree that graphics etc...will start levelling off if they havent already, but if there are no releases for consoles that gamers want of course PC will be in the lead. ...
The NFS franchise has been on a downward slope for years IMO. They assumed they had a grip on the genre, dont get me wrong people still buy their games every year (for some unknown reason) and the games journalists give NFS good reviews. The games always lack something that used to draw me in.
I think the Forzas and GT5's are significantly better, even though slightly different with realism but still.
NFS just isnt what it was.
IF MS wait and see, it could cost them.
They should just get a basic service going.
With MS its about adding to the current infrastructure, so if they followed Sony by giving cloud storage.
Im sure both are/were working on cloud gaming (basic service for backwards compatibility for simple small games).
Sony is clearly taking cloud gaming seriously and I am sure MS are doing the same, MS have not released what they are working on, but Im sure they have something...
Im sure sony have purchased gaikai for the IP's which it can use with the ps4.
Its a little late in the ps3 life cycle to try and adopt new technology and apply it to an infrastructure on the ps3 which cannot add X chat, so how can anyone expect cloud gaming to get on the ps3?
Maybe a basic version could make it on the ps3, but im sure its going to be used for the ps4 since I dont think many gamers will be able to fully utilise cloud gaming due to internet speeds...
I do like the realistic element of GTA IV, the driving and the way you would fly out of the car if your crash at speed etc..
They should just add more of the things from older games like I mentioned above.
yeah, It does seem like MS are taking the whole entertainment in the living room quite seriously.
They have a very decent media player with a good range of apps currently,
If true getting windows onto the next xbox means you can do even more from the comfort of the Sofa/Couch.
Although if its about making the platforms identical then its probably embedded functionality.
Although it would be pretty nice to have windows added to the next Xbox
