I mean Vaio just got sold, the TV arm are next.
Its a good move, those electronics items were not doing well in comparison to others.
Even the film studio/publisher etc.. Is doing quite bad, this is the massive restructure Kaz has created and its working.

And they can be built for cheaper than most of those prices, its about cleverly buying components from different places.

Linux is much easier to support since there is not likely to be any middleware like directx etc.
Im sure they will want to own as much of the next few years as possibe, if steamOs turns out to be something great they will want their finger in that pie no?

its got really good traction in many territories.
this is Sonys exclusive equivalent to assassins creed. The game devs need to understand how people play it, get feedback etc, then maybe add MP to the next game.
Its a good call, if this game turns out to be great no one will care. MP is not everything, at least one game dev knows it.
It has not been that fun since the online was up and running.
The 'competitive' game modes are slow and boring, but they dont offer much else. It just gets very boring and repetitive very quickly. The team deathamtch scenarios are pretty awful, a higher level person has a great advantage because they have unlocked the more power guns which have more damage over greater distances.
I personally felt the single player was just too short, Ive never 100% a GTA game...
How does anyone buy this?

one game dev said they are 'talking to other guys', yet the article generalises this to every game dev as being the reason why MS are losing to Sony.
It could be Sonys platform is easier to write for and has better hardware specs?

Miles ahead - They are doing better in sales,
most multiplat games are running 1080p 60fps.
The FPS from 30--> 60 is a massive difference in gameplay.
Yeah i mean MS are doing better than they did with the 360 - but Sony are miles ahead.
@Shugacane - Sony did win by a margin at the end, but that was also due to Microsoft's stupidity with Kinect and all the casual B.s. It wasnt too long ago when the someone from Naughty Dog (I think) was saying 2011 MS could have won it from there.
It really goes to show, how bad decisions cost MS a victory.

LOL its a serious issue, but game companies and console manufacturers also leverage the review sites and 'journalists'.
Look at Cnet/IGN/gamespot etc.. Some reviews are clearly skewed.
Its a shame - but it happens across the entire technology industry. The way these companies leverage reviewers is by giving them free tv's, consoles, games etc...
With more and more people buying directly from XBL/PSN stores with next gen games this trend will only continue.
Its soo much more convenient to buy online and buy digital, where there should be a saving because a disc did not need to be printed and written to, it did not require shipping etc.
Both Sony and MS should cut the cost of games bought digitally - like steam.

I think the windows 8.1 still uses something similar to DLNA.
The transcoding is done on the PC if required,
its a workaround whilst DLNA is updated to the xbox.

i think too much gaming and nothing else would not cause hallucinations but it could affect sleep/ dreams.
Happened to me 1 week where I was playing COD MW2 for like 12 hours a day.
But after that I was back to normal,
just keep it varied and make sure you keep active
yes - you are right, at the moment no 4K screen can do over 30fps.
Also smaller 4K screens like 26inch and below, you are hardly gonna notice a difference between 1080p and 4k.
@NYC_gamer - the more hardcore gamers are buying up the consoles first, for the rest of the market I am not sure if they want to purchase the new gen of consoles right now.
It may be a "I can wait 9 months" sort of mood, THe PS4 is amazing value - Im not disputing that, I think its up to Sony/MS to convince people that recently purchased the previous gen to upgrade.
I do see my self as a more hardcore gamer, but I have yet to purchase a next gen console - for the mom...

Whilst the PS4/Xbone hardware is the same, people have different TV's - Small/Large, better response times, even 5.1 surround sound headsets.
The general experience is the same in terms of performance, load times of games etc..

Lets assume Steam and all hardware vendors use the exact same international pricing method, I.e - If the steambox is $500 in the states, the UK will get it for £500, I recently built my PC for just over £500, and in general it comes with better specs, and I can do more with it, due to the popularity of windows.
I am very used to MS office (due to work) so it works easily...
Disney will have issue with this, but Im sure some of the kotor 3 story had been written.
As had characters and art work.
I have never understood why kotor 3 never got made, it defo would have made more money than the old republic and galaxies combined.
ive played many games across the majority of platforms.
The KOTOR series and the jedi knights series are some of my best gaming moments to date.
