Sony & MS didn't skimp on hardware then, so I doubt they will do it now with next-gen consoles. Obviously they both have to look at the long run. These consoles are supposed to last what? 5-10ish years? It would be idiotic for Sony or MS to release a console then in the same year already have devs complain about lack of power.

If anything, the people who were laid off will form an independent company to handle the servers for MAG. If not, then Sony will most likely control them.
This is what happened to Ensemble when Microsoft shut them down. They formed a new studio (Robot Entertainment) and controlled the servers until they handed them over to Microsoft a year later.

New generation of technology waits for no one. Sure you may have bought your PS3 in 2010, but don't forget those people who have had their PS3 since DAY 1. That was 5-6 years ago. Now that's a long time.
You know what's an epic fail? Mass Effect 3's Collectors Edition case. It is almost impossible to remove the damn discs from the case. I feel like every time I try and take it out, the discs are going to snap in half. Nice one EA/BioWare.
"AAA" or in this case "AAAA" does not mean that the game will receive high praise in terms of reviews, it's that the game is backed up with a big budget.

Triple-Buffering is something Halo games don't offer. I believe Anniversary had it, though not too sure about that (I'll have to double check). Halo: Reach had no v-sync but what was nice was that all the screen-tearing happened at the top of the screen (effectively making scree-tear invisible to the eye). Though the frame-rate was all over the place, making triple-buffering impossible without having at least a good frame-rate.

I sense the anti-aliasing solution might be FXAA. Only makes sense at this point since a LOT of developers are starting to implement it into their engines.

From what I've read from a couple of different people, Kinect actually works really great with ME3.
Character models look very good. Skin shading looks absolutely phenomenal! Can't say much about gameplay/story, I'll wait till I actually play the demo & full game.
Looking at the recent screenshots of Kinect: Star Wars, the game doesn't look that bad. Sure the presentation at E3 wasn't all that glorious... But I'm willing to give the game a chance.
But you have to hand it to Halo, the amount of things it does technically is impressive. Big open-world environments, tons of AI on screen. Halo is a pretty unique console FPS in the sense that it feels almost like a sandbox game compared to others. Halo also manages to do almost everything in real-time.
Hopefully 343 can still retain the same feel/look as previous Halo games like the beautiful sky-boxes, lighting, and what-not. 720p+FXAA is a nice addition also.
