I wouldn't play on my smartphone either way, if given the choice. The last game I bought was Bastion, and I haven't been able to finish it because of the bloody awful touch controls...
@mikeslemonade
Cut the crap, everyone on N4G and their dogs know that your money doesn't go anywhere near a couple of those companies XD
It's an incredible piece of hardware. What the h*** is Sony waiting for to support it?
It deserves as much care as the 3DS, so, come on. If Nintendo can support both their markets simultaneously, why can't Sony?
Right... A remake over a new game.
No thank you. I'd rather they prioritize the new game. Although, there's obviously no reason to not bring both.
Umm, there's been plenty of those...
Holy crap! The Vita actually won! We need God Eater 2 to come out of Japan!
Also, those Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate sales are unbelievable!
Sweet. I haven't tried any game in this genre just yet, though. Maybe I should get Hyrule Warriors first just to see if it's my kind of game.
Seems like a very obvious concept, specially so by the noticeably crisp image that points to an untouched pixel density. Now try explaining that to those people that naively think such a rendering method is not meant to cut corners, and the black bars are actually taking as much processing power as the rest of the image.
EDIT:
@MyDietEqualsGames
They? I acknowledge and approve of what Chard said in his comment. Don't go full damage control on me, man, wh...
"It is evident that corners were cut to push the visuals"
And quite literally too haha.
Still, the game isn't 800p either, dude. But it was astonishing to notice just how many people on this site believed those lame "cinematic experience" excuses.
I like the game's art direction, but I also don't think it's a technical marvel since they had to sacrifice meaningful assets that tend to improve action games, these bein...
"the letterboxed 1920x800 rendering resolution"
*cough*
So, where's all the people that assured me the game was running at 1080p with "rendered" black bars, hm?
Don't get so worked up with trolls, man.
It's not like they can make the decision of buying the game for you.
The game has already been leaked for anyone to know how it really is. Whether people buy it or not will be decided by how much they want the single player experience for $60, or would rather wait till it's cheaper, or not buy it at all.
That gets the obvious joke out of the way XD
It's controversial, really. But I really don't see how releasing the play through affects anything negatively since it's the most genuine source of information you can get about the game.
The reviews are coming out on Thursday. By that point, most preorders are gonna be already shipped. So the only people who may come out affected from all this are the developers, and rightfully deserved. People should be able to get some insight about the game from reviews before...
People are still salty because Mario Galaxy scored so high last gen?! Dear Lord... It was easily better than any title on its genre in any console at the time, so what is there to argue about?
Sounds really cool. Will keep an eye out for it if it ever hits consoles.
meh, Ubisoft games go for under $20 in less than 8 months usually. I can wait.
Because of no more chili dog jokes... What?! I liked those!
On a serious note, it shouldn't even be a question, there's too many good games out there for all ages that justify a child's fondness or dedication to them. Recent Sonic games are not within those. Besides, he doesn't seem to have as much of an "attitude" nowadays... I think that's part of the charm that got other generations into Sonic games.
It is sub-1080p, it's not my fault the developers decided to cut in processing power to achieve such graphics. And no, I realize 1920x800 is not 800p. Spotie is just being a troll by stating I said such ridiculous thing.
I also just realized I said 1080p was 1920x1280 which is incorrect, but whatever, the game IS missing 280 vertical lines, I don't know why that's such a complicated concept to grasp :/
@mkis007 above
Oh dear lord, the iro...
@mkis007
The black bars are composed of the missing 480 vertical lines, therefore, the quality of the image is not hindered, BUT the game is still missing those 480 vertical lines, hence the 1920x800 resolution which is in fact NOT 1080p.
1080p with black bars would not make any sense, since you wouldn't be able to fit more than a 1920x1280 resolution in a native resolution screen...
How people could disagree with you is beyond me.
