Yeah, probably. Though in the case of Wolfestein, it was running on ID Tech 5(?), which I read on an interview that it only allowed for 60fps, which is why it ran with such consistency across both last gen and current gen platforms. Same with Rage, which was another game developed on that engine.

My only guess is that you'd need to build the engine around the whole idea of being able to sacrifice resolution as a resource to boost frame ra...

Marston, Wrex, and Geralt are easily more badass than Kratos IMO.

But Samus Aran and Doom Guy make all these dudes look like toddlers, of course.

Just a question. What's so awkward about dynamic resolution? It's probably the most ideal solution to keep a desired framerate when the engine goes through some heavy stuff.

In fact, ever since I saw how well it worked for Wipeout HD on PS3, I've wished most developers would use it.

The fact that developers keep using stuff like locked Vsync on games that can't hold a stable FPS just so we won't see screen tearing is embarrassing.

I'll be honest here. I find the concept behind No Man's Sky a dream come true as a fan of science fiction (specially the Ender books, and games such as Metroid Prime, Mass effect, etc.), BUT I encourage gamers to judge it as a whole and not just jump into the hype wagon based on the concept and amount of content promised.

Remember, the bigger they are, the bigger they fall. And history has proven that said games which set their ambitions too high, tend to disappoint ...

It's not weird at all. In fact, all the people on this site that support this are hypocrites who hate on the Wii U, but want to play its games.

They can't make up an excuse like they did with the Wii, which at the time was to finally be able to play the games in HD. But because Wii U games are already in HD, they just decide to come out from underneath their bridge to shamelessly say that a Wii U emulator is a good thing.

@fallacious

People disagreeing with him have a different OPINION. It's a hard concept to grasp, I know. But with a little bit of effort, I think you'd eventually see it.

I share your point of view. Yet, this only applies to 2D Mario games, as the 3D ones (Galaxy, 3D World, etc.) are at least on par with the DKC series, if not higher on my list.

But, at this point, I doubt good old Donkey Kong can catch up to Nintendo's best sellers... Heck, even Metroid hasn't achieved so.

I guess it all comes down to opinion, but I think WWHD has enough changes made to justify calling it a remake, as it is exactly the same scenario as OoT3D and MM3D. New mechanics built around the console it's made for, gameplay improvements, and a complete graphical overhaul.

It might not be a drastic improvement as Zero Mission is to the original Metroid, but comparing it to today's standards of "remasters", WWHD stands out as a remake.

Calling Zero Mission and Wind Waker HD "remasters" is insulting. The thing with Nintendo is that they actually remake their games, which takes actual effort.

So, should they release more REMAKES? Sure. That'd be truly awesome, so long as they stay away from the greedy business practice that is releasing remasters left and right.

I gotta say, that's some nice stealth trolling.

"I was expecting a 9, bit this is Gamespot..."
"never got to play the first game"

My God, will people on this site just stfu when their games don't receive 9 or 10? Just watch every 6, 7, or 8 review for this game get labeled as "troll reviews" .

They'd rather cater to the dudebros out there so they buy PS4 instead of the Xbone. Not such a bad decision overall from a business standpoint, but when you leave a fantastic console like the Vita (and its supporters) out to die, you lose respect from gamers such as myself who actually own both of those consoles.

In all honesty, neither of them should be anywhere near a top 100 OF ALL TIME BEST list.

Show this video to anyone who says is the best at Mario. The results are hilarious.

Of course we understand. You simply left the Vita audience out to die.
