Halo 3 had Forge which had never been done before on a console FPS so it did innovate. True skill matchmaking was another Halo invention. Also, regenerating health/shields is a Halo invention and is now a FPS standard. So it's silly to say Halo didn't innovate when games like COD4 and Resistance were influenced by it.
Gears of War introduced active reloads, the best cover system to date, a variety of finishing moves, and Horde.
What does KZ2 introduce to the genre? A...
like another triple A exclusive on the 360. If only I had enough money to buy them all.
life is unfair.
weymes, what's your deal? another anti-360 article, I see. Starting a cottage industry?
hey, why don't you mention that disk swapping takes a lot less time and disk memory than the PS3 mandatory installs in your "objective" analysis? I'd rather swap a couple disks then sit around waiting for a 20 minute install, clogging up my hard-drive and costing me money.
I think I speak for most consumers when I say Bluray's disk space is a good idea for gaming but Son...
good call on the IGN comparison. you can tell the analyst is kind of a sony fanboy (he prefers dual analog for FPS shooters?!?) and it pains him to recommend the the 360 version.
wonder why Capcom skimped on the PS3 version.
Yeah, the lighting is also worse quality in the PS3 with less subtlety. The textures on the monster thingy are worse on the PS3 version. Also, notice how the two characters look like they're standing in front of a blue-screen or something in the PS3 version of the last picture on the first page.
All in all, the PS3 version looks like it's missing one last stage of polish compared to the 360 version. It appears some shaders and post processing effects are non-existent in the PS3 v...
It's also nothing compared to what Konami does with the Metal Gear series or what Square does with Final Fantasy or what Nintendo does with Zelda. This console generation there are two Halo games. there are also two Ratchet and Clank games, two Gears of War games, and two Resistance games, etc.
How this article even got written boggles the mind, oh wait...
it's Gamer.Blorge
they're a joke.
wow, 2 stores in the nation of Japan. Really scraping the barrel aren't you?
that's two stores. lol. famitsu is reporting their overall sales tracking numbers across the whole nation.
err, because the 360 is starting to catch on? it took Apple years to establish market penetration in Japan. it's a slow process but 360 sales have been increasing pretty steadily in Japan from month to month.
Cue heroic theme music. Omg, one store in the nation of Japan reported 3 to 1 bundle sales in favor of the PS3 so Famitsu is wrong. Quick! Report the story!
SDF to the rescue!
yeah, article big time fails. That's 2.31 million just in North America before the end of 2008. Right now, Gears 2 is approaching 5 million sold worldwide and received overwhelming critical acclaim. mediocre reception my ass.
SDF is going to go nuts this E3. MS is keeping secrets this year even better than last year. Halo 4 is going to drive them bonkers, too. this sh^t is funny to me. Halo 3 came out in September 2007. Halo 4 announcements are long over-due. If Halo 4 was a Sony title they probably would have already shown a CGI trailer of it at E3 2008.
How's the news on super-awesome 5780 players at once MAG? any release window yet? any actual game footage? anything? anyone? ***crickets***
...
yeah, keep living in dreamland.
true, it's vgchartz. but that type of deviation from NPD's numbers would be unprecedented.
I love how you're "just guessing" and 5 people agreed with you. Sony fanboys trust some random nobody's guess more than they do VGchartz because it's what they want to hear. Maybe VGchartz should hire this guy and get credibility with the 15 year old Sony fanboy set!
I don't need MS to provide me with a box. I use your mom's box to put my 360 in and when I say my 360 I really mean...nevermind. Your mom's box is provided free of charge, too. But anyway, tell your mom I said thanks for letting me use her box even if it was for only a couple weeks!
lol yeah this site is so far up Sony's ass it's not even funny. I've been taking screen caps of some of the things the mods do and don't moderate and thinking of sending them to some game magazines.
it's time to get the word out! take a screenshot whenever you post something yourself or you see something that should be moderated. if you get moderated and you think it's unfair then you will have a screen cap of what got moderated and an argument.
I've also noticed tha...
this game is already in closed beta and due for release in Spring 2009 for 360/PC.
At this point it's just minor tweaking for Champions online.
They've probably started on another game. Anyway, at the very least it would take more than a year to make a MMO engine compatible with the PS3.
well, at least MS has a 2 year warrantee and they don't lie to everyone who calls with a bricked console telling them it was dust and charge them $150 for a refurbished one even though it's Sony's fault. also, if you have a console for more than 2 years without RROD the odds are you won't get it. RROD usually happens earlier.
quick question: how many PS2's have you gone through? they used to brick left and right back in the day and you were pretty much told to buy a new one. Sony...
Don't forget the small chunk that the original Xbox cuts into that remaining 21%. I would put PS3 online activity around 19-20%.
