I paid $399 for my 360 and could have bought a PS3 but didn't. Only one person I know has an Arcade unit. The Arcade isn't their biggest selling unit anyway. The Pro is according to MS.

yeah, you struck on something important. It's like a game of chicken. Even if Sony could lower the price of the PS3 they probably won't because they know MS will lower the price of the 360 in return and Sony will end up selling about the same amount of consoles but making less money than before due to the price cut.
