is based in both america and canada. they have a studio in Texas.
In my opinion most of those games suck.
However, no one can really say which country makes the best games. It is all opinion. I'm sure I can rifle off a big list of american developed games.
personally my favorite devs and publishers are American (Valve, Bioware, Epic, Activision, and Bungie to name a few) however everyone's opinion is different.
maybe you should up that number to 7 and go for the world record? it's funny how as the PS3's fate gets gloomier and gloomier that fanboys keep increasing the amount of 360s that failed for them.
you're a liar.
loved how he glossed over the fact that he bought the X360 second hand and that he purposely over-heated it on top of that. methinks this blog is very suspicious. lots of people do stupid things to violate their warranty and then blame the manufacturer. i knew someone who covered up the ventilation holes with duct tape on his 360 to avoid dust from getting in...needless to say the 360 over-heated.
personally, I've never had problems with my 360 and everyone I know who had problem...
Japan is notoriously slow in adopting popular western electronics. For example, the Ipod took very long to catch on in Japan compared to NA and Europe. Analysts were saying the Ipod would never catch on and gave various reasons that proved to be untrue.
The Wii's popularity will fade because with each year that passes the Wii's graphics look more and more dated and the novelty of motion control wears thin. I'm not saying that the X360 will ever outsell the Wii however I expect th...
the exec forgets to mention that:
a) a hard-drive is required for most games because of the slow 2X Bluray drive that cannot read data quick enough without installs or hard-drive cacheing
b) with these mandatory 5 gb+ installs having an 80 gb hard drive on a PS3 is roughly the equivalent of having a 20 gb X360 hard drive.
Sure, Kill.Switch attempted a cover system but it was broken and the game flopped. Also, Kill.Switch did not have online multiplayer. I'm not saying Gears of War was the first game to attempt a deep cover system but it was the first game that got it right and had online multiplayer.
You heard it here first.
Expect a metascore within the 90's for Gears 2
From what I've seen of Resistance 2, the game will be lucky to get a metascore in the 80's.
Gears of War was game of the year and redefined the third person shooter cover system. Resistance: Fall of Man was a critically acclaimed game like Viva Pinata but no one was saying it was breaking any ground. Sony is just hyping this game up because they know they need to manufacture somethin...
Xbox 360 is the best console.
That's why I bought one.
The PS3 is missing the best rpg of this console generation, Mass Effect. The PS3 is missing the best FPS of this console generation, Halo 3. The PS3 is missing the best third person shooter of this console generation, Gears of War. The PS3 is missing the best online service of this console generation, Xbox Live. Need I go on? Heck, if I owned a PS3 I would still be waiting to play Bioshock. It's unacceptable.
All the PS3 has is MGS4 and one g...
I think that there are two big reasons Japan is lagging behind the west in game development:
A) Money. There are many more Hollywood sized game studios in the USA with blockbuster budgets than Japan and that is what it takes to create a AAA game nowadays.
B) The American educational system focuses more on creativity and english. The Japanese system focuses more on math and science.
true 'dat.
$199 a console is the sweet spot for massive sales and the Holiday season is coming. Sony will have to resign themselves to never making up the 5 million plus sales lead the 360 has and work on making their next console more successful. Lastly, large electronics companies like Panasonic and Toshiba are saying that Blu-ray will only be the best quality HD format for another 3-4 years.
No wonder Sony's stock is plummeting. I've been saying it since day one: Sony should have never ...
Amazon sells one PS3 console -- the 80 gb model
Amazon sells 4 different 360 consoles right now -- the 60 gb, 20 gb, 120 gb, and the arcade model. all 4 models are reasonably popular.
therefore, the sales are split up for the 360 between 4 different units adversely influencing the rankings for the 360 console. if amazon combined the sales of each 360 model before ranking it then amazon sales rankings would mean something, but they don't. does this make any sense to y...
it proves nothing
sony is only selling one sku, the 80 gb PS3
Microsoft is selling 4 skus right now, the arcade, the 60 gb, the 20 gb, and the arcade. so the sales are split up between 4 different units affecting the sales ranking of each type of console.
right now there are 4 popular SKUs for the 360 on Amazon: the elite, the 20 gb, the new 60 gb, and the arcade model. therefore the sales are spread out more for the 4 different units compared to the 80 GB PS3 which is the only PS3 that Amazon sells.
Therefore, resulting in lower rankings for each different 360 console on Amazon compared to the one PS3 sku. Glad I could clarify things.
This is big news for the 360 when the president of the largest gaming store in Nort...
saying great games and PS3 in the same sentence is blasphemy. i feel like people with PS3s are like little kids with their faces pressed against the window of a candy store. No good games for you!
This trailer is lame. it does not capture the feel of the game at all.
and they're owned by an american company...EA.
so i guess bioware is canadian-american and we're both wrong.
i was listing off both publishers and devs. however, substitute infinity ward if it makes you feel happy.
