I didn't say MS wasn't taking a hit. I was refuting the previous post that claimed Sony was somehow immune because they were a japanese based company when in fact their stock has gone from a 52 week high of 57.19 to 23.90 in less than a year. that's a much bigger % drop off than microsoft in the same span of time.
as for size of the companies, here is one indicator:
sony's market cap is 23.98 billion
microsoft's market cap is 210.09 billion
I'm not...
dropping behind enemy lines without spartan armor. I bet this game will feature gritty urban combat and stealth based missions.
From all the Sony fanboys on N4G you'd think Halo wasn't one of the best game franchises of all time.
This game will hopefully serve as a full reminder.
@Silverchode
29. I've been playing FPS's since Doom. there are two different types of fps's: the gritty "realistic" ones like COD4 or Counterstrike and the sci-fi, space marine ones like Unreal Tournament or Quake.
As for a sci-fi space marine style multiplayer FPS there is no bett...
Sony's stock has fallen more than 50% in less than a year.

The company is taking a beating. Sony is a small company compared to Microsoft. If the stock keeps dropping then it wouldn't be huge hugely surprised if Microsoft bought them out altogether.
You guys are the biggest whiners I've ever seen. Sony didn't invent Tekken or FF. A third party developer wrote those games for the Nintendo and Playstation gaming platforms because they were popular. Now they are writing them for the X360 gaming platform also which has outsold the PS3 worldwide by 5 1/2 million consoles and is currently outselling the PS3 worldwide on a monthly basis. Is this a huge surprise to you that game developers want their games on a more popular console? If not then ...

According to Square there are no plans for a PS3 version.
@bishop-br
She asked a question. I gave an answer. Not everyone wants to sit around waiting like a Sony fanboy for 6 month...
replaying Halo 3 right now. what a great game.
It's the only fighting game I like and I wasn't going to buy a PS3 for it.
@everyone below
They do make 3rd party 360 controllers with better d-pads like this--

Besides the standard 360 d-pad works fine anyway. It's not a big difference.
the trailer for the new Halo game looks pretty awesome

Seriously. Sony is losing bad.
The X360 shots do look better but notice how there are no close up texture shots...and the PS3 shots are taken at a greater distance from the objects they're showcasing in the game than the X360 shots. You don't get any up close shots of textures which were people's main complaint about the port and they're showing a pre-patched version of the X360 Bioshock. Why would they do that considering the PS3 version had a whole year more to be developed? Shouldn't a year old patch come with the game?...
Expect another exclusivity shocker at TGS.
Cue the sony fanboy tears--

I loved it. My roommate who is a huge JRPG fan played it and loved it. Then he bought Lost Odyssey and stopped playing it after the first disc. Other RPGs just aren't the same after playing Mass Effect.
the laughter turned to tears as their stock fell more than 50% in less than 6 months:

Hey, maybe you should save up some of your lunch money and bail them out?
Please don't insult this game by mentioning it in the same sentence as Resistance 2.
Thank you.

I can't wait. First day purchase for me.
It only has endless replay value if you like pushing and jumping a stuffed sack with arms and legs around a 2D platformer. If you don't like platformers then it has zero replay value.
It's not an X360 fanboy thing either. Every critic raved about Braid on the 360 and I played the demo and I think it sucks because I hate platformers. Just a personal preference. Heck, even Mario smartened up and went full 3D on the N64.
Thank you. Try the Sushi bar. I'll be here all week.
*gasp*
They did put LBP on the list so not all is lost for PS3 owners, I guess.
Last remnant in Nov '08 and Star Ocean 4 in Feb '09.
You also forget that the 360 has some pretty good, critically acclaimed western games like Mass Effect, Gears of War, Halo, and Fable that could very easily catch on in Japan as the 360 console base gets bigger. And don't give me bs about Japan not liking shooters, MGS4 is nothing more than a 3rd person shooter with some stealth elements and it was popular in Japan due to the popularity of its earlier incarnations on the popula...
