Hmmm...
The title of this article should be -
"1 x PS3 > an X360 + a Blu-ray Player + GoW"
The reality of this article is -
An Xbox 360 + a Blu-ray Player + GoW 2 + the Australian climate = RROD
gameplayer.com.au - why do you hate us gamers so much? Why do you try to put the above bundle on par with a PS3?
Do your readers a favour and stop publishing these kinds of articles.
Wow, another ‘save blu-ray’ story.
You really have to be part ostrich to write these stories. Blu-ray sales are on the increase and its’ only rival is sitting in an obsolete bin in a MS warehouse.
Blu-ray is doing well and its sales will only increase. Another author that needs to get over his purchase of a HD DVD player.
WOW! I was expecting to read about how some poor kid got hurt or some thing but this is just about a game glitch!
A 'dangerous game glitch' is a glitch that when it occurs, it blows your LCD or PS3 up and inflicts some kind of physical damage to you!
I was playing Treyarchs COD WOW beta the other night at my mates. I know it's a beta but it just didn't play as well as COD MW. The guns are a step backward, lots of stupid army style shouting soundbites. I'm not much of a fan of the phosphorus grenade or what ever it is.
Just to have something positive to say about Treyarchs game...It's definitely better than COD 3.
I'm still undecided though on whether I'll buy this. I would have preferred to see Infinity Ward ...
My wife and I wont even go to the cinema any more because it can't match the quality of the entertainment system we have at home. 42" LCD TV 5.1 Surround and Blu-ray beats the cinema any day.
The article just stinks of somebody that bought a HD DVD player and is still bitter at its demise.
I reckon it'll be the new Call of Duty that'll take that crown. Just look at how many are still playing COD 4 MW and most of the reviewers reckon the new game is better than the last.
Gears 2 will do well though. A few mates have already dug out the first game and started playing it again just to get a bit of practice in. For the last 9 months they have been stuck into COD 4 MW. I wasn't a fan of the original (just never got into it) but I'll rate Gears 2 by how long my mates a...
I'm just over half-way through this game (on the PS3) and loving every minute of it! I will definitely always class Bioshock as a console classic. The story is engrossing. An absolute winner!
I think it's still a great game. One that I've kept in my games collection. My copy of GTA 4 is sitting in some shops used games bin with the other 60 copies (360 and PS3). I wouldn't trade in RFOM.
It has a great single player game and the multi-player just about bang on. It had next gen graphics, though they look a bit dated now. I tend to play COD 4 a lot more now but one thing I can say for certain is that RFOM beats COD 4 for online stability. Anyone that plays COD 4 onlin...
What were they going to do give it less than a 10 and show themselves up?
I've played it through twice now and have to say that in 22 years of gaming (GOD I'M OLD) it is unique! I lent my PS3 to a mate, when I brought the family on holiday this year and when I took the PS3 back He went out and bought a 40 gig model on the basis of MGS4. I can't say I'm a big fan of MSG online but He loves it.
that MS have been using its contacts within the gaming community to run a viral campaign against the PS3. How many times have we seen Game Trailers running badly set up Video comparisons and use this to slate the PS3 version?
Has anyone ever asked why a machine with so many manufacturing defects is so successful in ENGLISH speaking countries? (USA, UK, Australia)The 360 should have been recalled yet MS managed to wriggle out of that one, how? The Dutch were poised to pressure M...
Is it not possible to get the number of 360s sold rather than shipped?
It really depends on how many people download it and what the price is. E.G. If the DLC is priced at $9.99 it would need to sell 5 million units to break even. Has any other developer sold 5 million units of DLC? If not, does anyone know what the the highest number of units shifted on XBL is?
How much would you be willing to pay for this extra DLC?
It's childish to go on with this "Playstation fans should start worring" you only ruin a good thread by g...
Still not a thing I could be bothered to download. Ah well roll on next week!
Couldn't agree with you more on that one. The first Tomb Raider was so good that I played the entire game through German (Kraut mate lent me his copy) and still loved every bit of it. When the camera panned out so you could see that underground pyramid, just wow! And all on a PS1.
MS do need DLC. Could the additional DLC fit onto a DVD9? Rockstar had this problem with GTA 4 and this is probably the case with Tomb Raider. HD visuals take up a lot of disk space.
Tell me what do you do with that DLC your left with once you've traded the game in?
There are very few games I would hold onto indefinitly. COD 4 MW is definitly a game I will keep playing, GTA 4 and Tomb Raider do not fall into that catergory.
Posters here can spin this as a fanboy opinion but as far as PS3 or 360 is concerned, I and thousands of others avoid DLC. It's just not worth hanging onto a game for the DLC once you've completed it.
Unles...
Let MS pay out millions for additional DLC.
How many of you out there still held onto GTA 4 after you completed it? I didn't. The DLC for GTA isn't going to be available for the PS3 but so what. Most gamers have already traded in their copies of GTA 4 by now. The same will happen with Tomb Raider. I see loads of used copies of GTA 4 for sale (360 and PS3) in games shops here in Ireland. Does anyone think that MS will make their 50 million back from that DLC? Not a chance.
Except the jealousy bit..
The Unreal engine on the PS3 is sh!t. Turok looked ugly. Unreal tournament just didn't do it for me either. I expected better graphics from a 'next gen' game. I know Bioshock got good reviews and I'm really looking forward to buying it but 360 or PS3 version, I still think it leaves a lot of room for improvement.
The only truly good multi-platform engine for FPS is Infinity Wards COD 4 MW. You should really ask the question "Why is ...
As for that knob Chris Stead, phrasing questions like "You say console franchise so what about the PS3? Is it good enough for Gears of War? Does it have what it takes?"
Really shows you the approach of a site like gameplayer.com.au take when conducting interviews, try and lead the questions and maybe you can kick off a flame war for more hits for the site.
Here’s one for you Chris, “Do you have what it takes” to be a credible gaming journalist?

Great post. bubbles for ye!
