Treyarch did bring many great features to the Call of Duty franchise actually.

Custom playercards
Theatre mode
Currency system
Wager matches
Custom Red (or other color) dot sights
Co-op zombie mode (although I prefer the co-op Spec Ops found in MW2)

Capitalism: Is thegameheadz.com hiding the greedy truth behind sensationalist titles?

See, I can do it too.

Or course it is their choice. Their game, their choice. I never stated otherwise. I am also not "demanding" that the game be released on Steam. I would love for you to point out where I did that.

I am simply expressing my intentions. I will feel no loss by not playing Battlefield 3. I have plenty of games to play to occupy my time.

I am exercising my right to choose, just as EA is doing. After all it is my money. My money, my choice.

If it is then it will also be the latest titles that I ignore. Steam is where I like to buy my games. I like having my games in one organized list. I like using Steam's in-game communication features, as well as community features. My friends are on Steam. Steam just works for me.

If EA chooses not to make the game available there then I will just not play it. I don't really want to bother with a physical disc, and I don't want another download service cluttering ...

Well that is unnecessarily elaborate.

Steam has most definitely spoiled me. The sale prices are absolutely ridiculous, and I swear they have a group of people just sitting at a conference table thinking up new reasons to have sales.

They have weekend sales, midweek sales, daily sales, and summer/winter sales. I wouldn't be surprised if they started sales that corresponded to the moon cycles. *note to self: send in that feedback*.

Dragon Age 2 should have taken Hawke beyond Kirkwall in the first place.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I for one am not upset. EA can make their games exclusive to their service if they wish. It is their intellectual property.

However, I reserve the right as a consumer to not use their Origin service. I like having my games on Steam for a plethora of reasons, and if EA wants my money they will sell it there.

If it is not on Steam then I am not going to bother buying it. If it is on Steam then I will buy it. It really is as simple as that.

I know that EA would prefer selling the game on their own service so they don't have to pay the middle man, but paying the middle man is still more profitable than not selling the game at all.

Food for thought.

I have enough of a backlog from the Steam summer sale to last me well into next year. I won't ...

I would rather they focus their energy on developing a great single player experience than pull resources away from the campaign to create a lackluster multiplayer mode for the sake of having a multiplayer mode.

Maybe it is because I started gaming in the 80's, but I don't think every game needs a multiplayer mode.

That is not entirely accurate. It is not a matter of exclusive DLC on Origin. It is just an exclusive edition. The regular edition of the game could still be sold on Steam and other digital vendors.

Also, BF3 not being available for preorder does not necessarily mean it won't be on Steam. EA could very likely be pulling another Alice.

I realize that my opinion here will likely be unpopular, and I won't have any more bubbles left to respond, but I believe that ultimately the consumers are to blame for the DLC craze.

If we as consumers simply chose not to support DLC milking it would not exist. We do support it though. Every time we purchase horse armor or Farmville cash we are telling the developers that we want to be milked.

Can you really blame the publishers/developers for taking adv...

1: an act or instance of stealing : theft; also : a financial exploitation

2: a usually cheap exploitive imitation

Developers are not stealing your money with DLC. Financial exploitation could be argued, but purchasing DLC is an entirely voluntary process.

A responsible consumer will simply choose not to purchase the content if he feels the content is not worth the price.

You own the disc. That is all you own. You do not own the rights to any digital content on the disc. You have a (revocable) license to use the digital content. No laws are being broken by selling unlocks for on-disc content.

Not that I condone such a practice mind you. I am very much against it, but let's not spread misinformation.

I understand that laws vary across the world, but I don't believe any country grants ownership of copyrighted content t...

A little bit of exclusive content is not going to get me to switch from Steam to Origin. I will just play the game without it.

Also, making games exclusive to Origin will just mean that I won't buy it.

My friends are on Steam. I enjoy using Steam's community features. I like having my games in one list. I enjoy taking advantage of Steam sales. I like that Steam has a built-in voice chat system.

If you want me to play your game, put it...

I wasn't aware that Minecraft was slated for console release. I learn something new every day.

Good for the console owners.

Minecraft might have been a better example, or perhaps Terraria.

STK026 speaks the truth. It does not make any sense to buy anything until the last day unless it is a daily deal. It is your fault for not having the patience or the foresight to wait.

By foresight I do not mean that you should have predicted the future. I simply mean that you should have been prepared for the possibility that those games might end up on the daily deal list at some point during this week.

What else is there besides graphics? Well let's see, there are the aforementioned mods. That is a pretty big deal. There is also the free online gaming, complete with cross-game voice chat, and in-game everything. Ever try to web browse while in a game on the PS3? How about the Xbox 360...oh wait, that doesn't even have a web browser does it?

Oh and let's not forget about little things like key binding and using a mouse for shooters. As a former PS3 player I can&...

It does not really matter how you define a sale. What matters is how the publisher defines a sale, and as far as their books will show, each of those used copies on the shelf constitutes a sale. Someone had to pay the money to purchase the game for it to end up on the used games shelf.
