That is not a fair weapon comparison. You are putting an expert of one weapon up against a careless user of another weapon. That is only comparing the skill of the people, not the weapons.
See who wins if you put an M1 expert up against an M16 expert.
You are not giving the public nearly enough credit. The Elder Scrolls community does not just QA a game. It releases unofficial patches too. So yeah why bother with quality assurance when your customers will fix the problems for you?
For the record I am in favor of quality assurance.
If they did nothing then the negative PR could have hurt their bottom line. Doing nothing could also have hurt their position in a potential class-action lawsuit. Don't pretend that they didn't have to do anything.
I won't boycott Skyrim, but I will be buying it later. I had planned on buying it at launch, but if Bethesda considers me a second class customer then I will treat it as a second class publisher. I will wait and get Skyrim later, perhaps when they release the inevitable GOTY edition.
I don't expect anyone else to follow suit mind you, but I am not going to rush to give my money to a company that considers my money less important.
Don't let GameStop executives find out. They might send their employees to steal the systems before they can be given to anyone.
Your friend should have refused to buy it like that in the first place. I know I would have.
Without knowing what game was being played, it is impossible to determine if he was playing a game that was rated higher than his age.
Also, what do you hope to accomplish by going into that kind of detail about the rating system on a website that is dedicated to gaming? It is reasonable to assume that anyone visiting your website is not only a gamer, but the kind of gamer who reads gaming websites. People who are that integrated into the culture are already familiar with th...
I would seriously consider paying a membership fee for such a place. The fee would probably weed out most of the shitty people too.
There is nothing questionable about it. Selling an opened game as new is wrong. Period. Even if it is an open item for display, it should have an open item discount.
I boycotted GameStop a long time ago. I have not stepped foot in one for about a 18 months now.
I still don't get why so many people complain about campers. I get free kills all the time by shooting through a wall or throwing a grenade through a window. Just take the time to learn the maps, and learn where people like to sit.
How do you know that the kid has mental issues? Maybe he just has a bad temper and lack of self control (which admittedly usually go hand-in-hand). Also, actions matter. Plenty of tragedies in history came about because of good intentions.
People have to be held accountable for their actions. A big problem I see in the world, especially with this generation, is that no one wants to take responsibility for anything.
The insanity defense is not as strong as television would have you believe. Even unstable people can be found competent to stand trial.
I am not buying your propaganda examiner.com. Next you are going to tell me that the Earth is round. You aren't going to fool me.
It is 90 days for Diablo 2. I hate the idea of expiring characters. I realize that it is not exactly a daunting task to log in 4 times a year, but I would hate to forget once and lose my character.
Also, being a veteran myself, I can't help but think about our men and women in uniform. Sometimes they have to deploy for months at a time (or longer). Is it really fair that they lose their characters because they were doing their jobs?
When I visit N4G I go directly to the PC section. It would be nice if I didn't have to sift through articles that are not relevant to the PC, in the PC section.
Oh come on, what is not to like about sparkly vampires who play baseball in the rain?
(Do I really need a sarcasm tag here?)
Mercedes execs shouldn't talk smack about Toyota vehicles until they outsell Toyota vehicles.
Chef Gordon Ramsay shouldn't talk smack about McDonald's burgers until his food outsells McDonald's burgers.
Gucci execs shouldn't talk smack about Wal-Mart clothes until they outsell Wal-Mart clothes.
Anyone seeing a pattern yet?
Mind you I have already paid for Modern Warfare 3, and won't be getting Battlef...
Don't forget Angeles Duran. She is the self-proclaimed owner of the sun. She wants to find a way to make people pay for using her sun.
All I know is, if I have to pay for using the sun, there better not be any more of these 12 hour outages every day.
While we are throwing around ridiculous scenarios, what would you say to a hurricane hitting your house and destroying all your precious game discs?
Of course then there are also tornadoes, floods, fires, and the good old fashioned home burglary.
