If you live in the US, I can tell you right now it's doable in roughly the same price range. 50 to 80 bucks more if you include windows and don't price hunt too hard. (even if you pretend something like Xbox live doesn't add hundreds of dollars to the real price of a console, which it does.

The real trick is/money saving strategy though, is actually to build a PC with good upgrade potential. So if you want to save money in the long run *and* have a high quality ...

The XboneX CPU is *kinda* garbage, so you can safely skimp out on the CPU and still match performance, and you *really* don't need a GTX 1070 to match XboneX visuals, an RX 480 or RX580 will do the trick (in fact they're almost exactly what's in the XboneX,)

You can be roughly equivilant to the Xbone X for 450-550 USD (at least, in the US) with 0 used parts.

Though, people are leaving out a *huge* cost thing in their analysis. Xbox live. Basi...

RPG Game.
RPG = Role Playing Game.
RPG Game= Role Playing Game Game.
Do you not know how acronyms work?

There's basically no roleplaying sooooooooo. Like, it doesn't have the *1 thing* that's in the name of RPG.

I'd argue the reason we don't get more coverage and the like for JRPGs is simply that the *vast* majority of them with any kind of market presense are *intensely* mediocre, does 2 things, both of which are bad.

1: it creates a perception that there aren't very many being released in the west.
2: it creates a stereotype about the genre that the Tales and Altier series are the best it's got.

And *that* is how things like the Altie...

All fiction should exist. *Including* fiction that has been changed to better reflect changing the market/or changing beliefs of the creators. Don't play it if you're weak and thin-skinned.

I can't say why they point it out, why *I* would point it out if I had a website though would be because every time any videogame company ever makes any decision ever with the intent of appealing more to women the internet collectively looses it's shit because "women only play mobile games" or some such.

Leon...is...not...his...name!

And the idea that *Squall* would simbolically change his name is so hopelessly out of character in a vain attempt to make him cool to the kids that it makes me wanna punch my tv.

Yes, yes you can be sexist if you "only want to end the ones who need to show tits to get streams." That's like saying you can't be a homophobe if you "only want to end the gay people who actually engage in homosexual activity." That's not how that works.

Girls who leverage their bodies (or just don't give a damn about the prudish, sexist notion that they need to be covered up) only give the "normal" gamer girls like me a bad na...

No, it's not. If you read the actual article and the authors endorsement of "thot poliecing" and how big of a problem it is that "normies" also enjoy video games, it becomes clear they're a sexist elitist douchnozzel (or pretending to be one to court controversy) who thinks it's an ok thing to dictate who gets to enjoy something, how they get to enjoy it, and what women do with their bodies.

It's basically all the worst stereotypes of an...

For 1 you didn't actually address anything I said. For 2, Have, uh, have you read my screen name sweetie? I *know* women like to feel sexy. But there are degrees. And context matters. After all, it's, at least in this country, perfectly legal to wear a bikini-thong or one of those 1 piece swimsuits that's basically just some bits of string litterally everywhere. But even if you go to the beach in the summer where such a thing might be expected, those aren't terribly common. N...

This is called observation bias. You don't see all the girls *not* doing that, but when those who do stick out and are given more weight in your mind than all the times you don't see it. Don't feel bad, it happens to everybody,, it's part of the psychology of humans as a species, but the result is that your (and my, and everyone elses) specific experience of what women gamers do and do not like cannot be used as evidence of anything.

It's not a matter of sex appeal. It's how extreme it is. Those are different things. To keep it stricly in the DOA franchise even, there is a difference between Hitomi's Karate gi with a sports bra or tube top underneath that's visible but she's still mostly covered, or Ayanes skintight black armor suit she wears, and Kasumi going to battle wearing *litterally only a bow.* The orders of Magnatude there are different. They're not trying to remove sex appeal from anythin...

That's not necessarily true. Women are only like 5-10% of the audience for fighting games, that is true, but it's *enitrely possible* most of that 5-10% potential audience that's there avoids DOA and they're working to change that. I don't have the marketing data so I don't know, but if you think you can manage 2-8% sales bump by catering to women a little better *and* keep your existing audience that's a good buisness move. Do you expext 1 in every 10-20 male game...

PCSX2 does not require you have any illegalor questionably legal files. Same as many emulators need you to dump the games from the relevant system onto a HDD, PCSX2 requires you to dump it's system files onto an HDD. (But once you have, of course, you can just physically put the games in your PC and they'll play, or you can rip them and play them from an iso)

I have a switch. Also I have a Wii U. And a PS1, and a PS2, and a Gamecube, and a Wii, and a PS3, and a Sega Genisis, and a SNES, and a N64, and a Gameboy Advanced, and a Nintendo DS, and a Nintendo 3DS, and a PSP and a PS Vita. I even have a Sega Gamegear.

I'd rather emulate all of the games I own on all of those systems, than play them on the actual system, in most cases. (Ie, in any situation where I don't need them to be portable.) Why? Better and/or more stabl...

The Best version of the world ends with you is the DS version. The game was built for the dual screen gameplay, it's part of it's thematic point about how hard it can be to work with other people but how much better off you are if you do.

They *should.* Again, you can see the result of the "fast travel everywhere" philosophy. You get incoherent non-world like Bethesdas games, where nothing about it makes sense, even in universe, if you think about it for more than like 20 seconds.

The way you deal with the "travel is boring after a while" issue is make it not-boring. Plenty of games do this. Some games just have fun movement (racing games and some variaties of platformer, as well as ste...

Fast Travel is videogame cancer.

I can be more specific. Games that are designed with fast travel in mind do not treat the world as an actual place with actual economies where actual people live and interesting things happen. Why? Well if you have unlimited fast travel (or simply fast travel that's too prevolant) nobody will see all that stuff and your good world design, they'll teleport past it, which makes it a *huge* waste of time to design it and put it in. So ...
